And this is why I own the discs and ripped them to my PC.
Burning my digital content to discs. Hard drives don’t last forever
Why not both? I like backups anyway.

Neither do discs.
A backup that lasts upwards of 20 years and can be copied close to end of life is a perfectly good backup. Don’t let perfect be the enemy of good, you’ll never achieve anything that way.
