First 3 episodes of Arcane season 2 were really good. There has been a slight jump in animation quality from season 1’s already phenomenal animation and they are also trying some new things, both in terms of character arcs and things like editing. I can understand it might be hit or miss, but for me it mostly worked really well. I have minor criticisms of the pacing of episode 3 but that’s about it.
For anyone who hasn’t watched Season 1 in a while, I would recommend rewatching it because this really feels like Act 4 of the show and I think a rewatch really helped me appreciate these episodes more.
Eh, the MVs don’t really bother me. It’s like a minute or 2 at (or near) the start of each episode showing a montage of events. I think what they represent is the pacing messiness you mentioned and that’s an issue, but tbh that’s been one of my minor criticisms of season 1 as well so it’s kind of more of the same in regards to season 2.
Other than that, I really enjoyed the first 3 episodes
Hopefully. People that have seen the first 3 episodes at the premiere have been saying it’s just as good if not better and with better animation. So fingers crossed.
I think this might have been downvoted because the invidious frontend was down briefly and also the title is not great for people without any context.
Here’s the youtube link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U17j0zweh90 Pretty good.
To be entirely fair, this was originally on Max and HBO is to blame. But yeah, Netflix is making a mistake. This is the kind of show that even if it doesn’t get massive views on release has a lot of staying power and long term appeal.

Transformers One was pretty solid. Excellent execution of a very predictable story.
Not that I’m aware of.
One of my favourites. Excellent combination of whimsical, cute, and scary.
@darakan@lemm.ee, I hope it’s okay
Not a problem. In fact I should probably add ani.social as a whole instance on the sidebar.
Well I can speak for myself and a few of my friends. None of us have played any D&D or similar ttrpgs and we barely knew of Critical Role. And most of us really enjoy the show.
Finished Vox Machina season 3. Another step up from the previous season in almost every way. Really happy it was renewed for Season 4.
Thanks for posting @Blaze@sopuli.xyz but I’m going to remove this as it’s a duplicate of this existing post.
Release date of February next year. Only about a years break between seasons 2 and 3. Hopefully they improve the animation quality from season 2.
Watched the first few episodes of Tomb Raider and it’s fine. It’s not awful and the voice acting is really good which is part of what has stopped me from dropping it. But the writing is pretty uninteresting and the animation quality is annoyingly inconsistent. Same studio made Castlevania and I had hoped that it would at least be at the same level as that (or even Nocturne which I think is better than this).
DAN DA DAN is interesting enough and the production quality from Science Saru in incredible. Unfortunately it’s a little too hyper for my personal tastes and it takes me a while to finish each episode because I have to take breaks.
Thankfully, season 3 of Vox Machina continues to be incredible. Every season it feels like they take a step up across the board which is really nice to see.
First 3 episodes of Vox Machina season 3 have been very good. There’s also another noticeable jump in animation and production quality which is super nice to see.
Thanks for sharing. Glad to hear there’s going to be a 3rd Primal season
Awesome. Season 1 was genuinely phenomenal and I’ve heard really good things about the rest of the manga. Hopefully they maintain the quality of the production for season 2
Seems to be Justin Roiland’s personal style. You can sort of see it in his previous work including the original Doc and Mharti shorts. Also there’s a decent amount of Ren & Stimpy inspiration.
