      It looks like the rack might be attached to the rear fender, which in turn is attached to the frame. IDK if this makes for a strong configuration though.

        Hmm. If that’s the case, it wouldn’t be good. The rack swaying could cause the fender to sway, and that could cause the fender to get caught up on the wheel.

        Maybe the rear rack has stays that weren’t installed. LOL

            Very interesting. So, what keeps it stable? For example, I’m often loading 60lbs on my rear rack (2 panniers + basket) and there would be a ton of pull force on that rack, not just side to side “sway” to worry about.

            I mean, the trek setup looks clean, but how does it remain secure?
