I don’t have a method. When I have time, I guess? I’ll definitely play a record more than once. I don’t seek out rare mints to never spin. I’ve got a few in poor shape, but they play. Been collecting since I was a little kid. I just finished living on the road for like 15 years. I’d bounce around the country, collect, listen, fill a couple boxes, then drop them off at a trusted friend’s house for storage, then repeat. I didn’t realize I had this many til I got them all in one place finally.
As my player has USB, I’d like to start doing digital backups while I listen. There is some oddball stuff in here that is worth the trouble. There’s also some dreck in here that isn’t. I have a small collection of those old gospel records with the creepy, cultish-looking families on the cover, just because I think they’re hilarious.
