The FUD spreaders continuing to spread FUD. You know what’s great for Lemmy, this platform you’re using that was developed by that Dev you’re coming for? Inter instance drama, surely.
Cold War 2 bullshit.

You mean someone with a 2 year old account? You know what instances existed 2 years ago?
Reddit 2.0. Always has been.
Yeah there was a little bit of that in the original WW2 games: CoD 1-3 and the expansion games and console exclusives.
Getting Over It with Bennett Foddy
Now, it’s kind of the point. But I don’t know if it was my mouse or what but I found the controls to be too poorly implemented with how difficult of a game it already is. Sometimes, the hammer would basically glitch out or would apply way more pressure relative to my movements and fling me back down to the button. It served as an element of frustration that I think goes against the design goals. I’ve seen speed runs that make me think it could have been my hardware, but I’ll never know. Actually, remembering, I think I switched to a different mouse eventually that was better but still not great.
I also just didn’t really ever buy into the premise. I know it’s an ode to B games, but the piling of random assets is not what I would consider good design even if they serve the purpose of what the game is going for. There are plenty of difficult video games that are about perseverance but still put in the effort in level design, mechanics, controls, etc.
Tbh, I found it an interesting enough experiment with failed execution. I don’t understand people who hold it up as one of the better “art” games in the medium.
Might as well say Beetlejuice three times
This happened to me earlier. also reset my password and got locked out. At one point I was able to log back in so I think it’s possibly a server load issue
Yeah the poor trillion dollar company couldn’t possibly compete with the billion dollar company by organically building an attractive portfolio. It’s not like they did it before and only lost their position due to their own mishandling of studios and misunderstanding of the market.
Well since exclusives will continue to exist, imagine if, hear me out here, third party titles remained cross platform and group B developed their own set of games at worst through infant studio acquisitions instead of, idk, acquiring the second largest third party publisher in the world (and thus all their studios).
Yeah I’ve joined sportscult but most the torrents from back then are dead or don’t include the pre-game and post-game shows.
Hopefully I’ll find them all one day.
Dunno about porn, but there’s cultural value in “entertainment”.
The full English broadcasting for the 2019-2020 Liverpool FC season complete with pre-game, halftime, and post-game shows.
Would also take the 2018-2019 season.
Should have downloaded them back then because all the links on sites like rojadirecta are dead now
Seeing these types of articles in publications like The Atlantic makes me dread a coming crackdown.
It’s always better when this type of stuff is unknown in the mainstream
Reading criticisms of Lemmy from Reddit and other platforms like HackerNews reminds me of reading criticisms of Reddit from Digg back in 2007-2010, except they’re more based on architecture instead of “it looks ugly”.
Now there are things that will turn away users. There’s obviously a strong leftist culture here, there are less users so less content, and obviously federation is a stumbling block for many people.
But I really think that’s ok similar to what people are saying in that Hacker News thread. I wouldn’t want all of Reddit to come over, and I think it’s better for the culture and growth here to get a self selected trickle/stream of users instead of a deluge.
I don’t think Lemmy will necessarily have the same issues as Mastodon because Twitter/Mastodon requires you to know people or know accounts to follow to be useful. Lemmy just requires communities you’re interested in and a critical mass of users to drive posting and engagement. We’re already seeing greater activity as more users arrive
16 years ago, that was Reddit for me.
Guess we’ll see.
