I have Nextcloud running on a Pi4 and it runs like a charm. It has a lot of RAM and processing power to spare, actually. The good thing about arm mini computers is the exceptionally low power draw. You can’t achieve that with some old x86 PC.

I love my bike trailer. I added an aluminium box to make it water proof and I use it almost weekly for groceries.
Fairphone 5 can force slow charging via settings. I use it all the time because I usually charge over night and it helps preserve battery life.
For the average person, that is impossible. Also, you lose a lot of features compared to SteamOS. Also, the controls are (at least to me) a main selling point and there is no controller on the market that comes close to the capabilities of the Deck.
Aggressive DRM mostly punishes paying customers. The game will probably be cracked anyways.
Those are rare exceptions and it should only be done after puberty AND if it can’t be resolved conservatively AND the person consents to the surgery. That’s something else entirely than doing it to children.
Why would I carry my groceries in a plastic bag or a collapsible box when I can just use a backpack? I can easily carry 15kg in my backpack.
I mostly go shopping with my bike though. I have huge bags that attach to the carrier and that can fit about a week of groceries for two people. I can transport even more with my bike trailer if I need to.
K-9 was aquired by Mozilla and will soonish re-brand to Thunderbird. Which isn’t necessarily a bad thing.
That maneuver will cost them a few % market share at best. Most people don’t even use ad blockers at all
I personally would rather not play those games than worsen the general experience by installing Windows. Other people feel differently and that’s okay.
I don’t think that’s gonna be possible, they slightly revised the whole board layout. Maybe if you’re lucky.
I can afford it and the chances are really nice, but I won’t buy the new version. There will be a Steam Deck 2 in 2-4 years with substantially better hardware and until then, the LCD version will do just fine.
Signal needs automatic cloud backups so badly. They’re encrypted anyways, why not allow it as an option?
I’ve used it for years now and it’s great and I managed to get all my friends to install it. But manual backups are basically impossible for the average user. Also it’d be nice if we could bulk export pictures more easily.
The value lies in its flexibility. And it’s mainly targeted for existing PC players. I can play my whole 150+ games steam library on it. I can easily emulate my favourite childhood games. Also, the smallest version with like a 256 or 512 GB SD card is perfectly fine and a lot cheaper than 600$.
There are use cases where a traditional console is cheaper of course, but you can’t get AAA handheld gaming for less money.
It’s basically a beefed up steam controller and while that one had its problems, it’s still the only controller im willing to use because of it’s many features.
Nobody ever seems to point out the various features like trackpads, back buttons and all the software goodness that you don’t get with the competition. That’s the main selling point of the Deck for me.
Can you elaborate on how I'm wrong? That's a pretty destructive comment you wrote there
It’s all about familiarity. People feel comfortable with Windows because they always used it and it has all the programs they always used. Most people just want to get their shit done and don’t care about operating systems at all.
