That lemmyBB frontend is sexy.

I wouldn’t call them douchey. It’s not like they’re causing damage to anybody else and there’s nothing wrong with using their own lemmy instance as a local bbs.
That said, I decided not to join them when I saw I would have to go through a sort of interview process explaining how I would contribute to them. They also have a long winded text to say the rules will be applied arbitrarily.

Last I checked, their reason for defederating is to avoid the high influx of new wildcard users from large instances without vetting processes.
As for the radical echo chamber part, I can’t say for sure because I didn’t actually interact with them but I recall the term they make you agree to apply for an account was somewhat vague, possibly allowing arbitrary bans to enforce an echo chamber.
Vote Skynet for 2024 Presidential Election, the efficient choice!
I’m a bitter old man who dislikes inline gifs in the comments, is there a way to block it like I did with RES on Reddit?
I’m not sure if Lemmy already does it or not but I wouldn’t mind if it also compressed attached pictures to save on storage and bandwidth like some other forums does (eg compress picture to <1mb).
Coincidentally, I’m all out of bubble gums.
Back in my days we only had space for one crt screen on the table so that’s what we used and we liked it!
Nowadays I’d rather have a second screen though. Not essential but there’s no real downsides either.
I’d guess the percentage of players with a steam deck is also in a single digit.
I hope there’s strict rules against melts.
Sorry, I was coming up with a reply for the last thing you said.
Phew, for a second I was worried you’d say cannibalism.
