This sounds like a good reminder to never trust incoming communication beyond ending the conversation and calling the company/person/whatever directly using a # you already have for them/a number from their confirmed website.

It looks like the Shelly device initiates contact with home assistant you may be able to just tell it to talk to the same api endpoint (following is for 2nd gen devices):
In this case, navigate to the local IP address of your Shelly device, Settings >> Connectivity >> Outbound WebSocket and check the box Enable Outbound WebSocket, under server enter the following address:
ws:// + Home_Assistant_local_ip_address:Port + /api/shelly/ws (for example: ws://192.168.1.100:8123/api/shelly/ws), click Apply to save the settings. In case your installation is set up to use SSL encryption (HTTPS with certificate), an additional s needs to be added to the WebSocket protocol, too, so that it reads wss:// (for example: wss://192.168.1.100:8123/api/shelly/ws).
Assuming you are buying a new unit I’d try following that guide after backing up and seeing if it updates normally. The first gen devices used a different protocol, full instructions for both can be found here.
Hey no worries, we all learn sometime. Easiest way in my experience is to login (or create an account) with your insurance company. The website should be on the back of your card or other paperwork. They’ll have a “search for care” option somewhere, mine calls if “find care.”
When we moved I used that to search for primary care doctors and then called one nearby and asked to get a new patient appointment. It did take a few calls as between the lists sometimes being out of date and there not being a huge surplus of doctors but it took maybe a half hour? I think it was the second or third call that got me set up.
If they don’t have that option you can use something like Google maps and search for “primary care doctor” but if you are in the US you will want to ask during the phone call to confirm they take your insurance company.
Start with your primary care doctor! I asked at my annual exam and had a list of things I had noticed I was struggling with and he saved me the hassle of a second appointment. It did help that most of my issues were inattentive based and VERY obvious from what I’ve been told.
He prescribed a non-stimulant which was also nice but if he hadn’t been my doc for a while he would’ve just given me a referral to who I needed to go to.
Never forget that Gavin Newsom signed on in support of the lawsuit the Supreme Court used to legalize this kind of bullshit.
This might work with the original parts which would be shockingly nice, I have a few cheap Amazon servos on order to see if they might work
It would need some changes so it could be pulled to either side but that is the closest framework I’ve seen yet!
well dang. The ones I linked are $35-55 a pop new and the organ I have would need roughly 73 of them lol. Barring a miracle find from someone I’m assuming the touch screen I’ve been using is there to stay.
Then do so and we’ll post the link to their story here when we see it.
This might be overkill but I run an xrdp and just remote into it from any device. Tablet phone laptop etc with an rdp app. If you need it on the go you would also want something like tailscale or WireGuard as a vpn to access the computer while away from home
Suuuuuurrreeeeee. You totally know who he is but won’t name him.
I don’t use lutris, but you could add lutris as a non-steam game in desktop mode so it pops up in gaming mode. I do that with Firefox so I can use the web without having to jump back and forth.
Mines at least that as well, it’s good to know come next ups purchase as I would hate to get stuck with that kind of garbage. I’ll have to pay close attention to the battery now when searching
My apc unit has a standard battery that has a replacement from Duracell, which model(s) have proprietary batteries?
I’ve never had an isp complain about me using my own router in the US, is this just common in other countries or have I just been lucky?
You can look at things like
https://www.newegg.com/tools/custom-pc-builder
To see some ideas of what would work, and I hope you feel free to ask around as you look at things! We all had to learn somehow and once you know what you’re looking for it’s just a small puzzle.
Quick suggestion is to decide on the cpu (I’m partial to amd so I’d pick something ryzen based if you want processing power) first then compatible motherboard, as after those two you should be able to just look at spec sheets and see things like the kind of ram you need case type etc.
I think this is a fine community, but as a question, is there a reason you aren’t considering building a server? You could fit those requirements into a normal desktop chassis and likely still have some pci slots free for future upgrades.
I don’t use Immich, but if you open a feature request I’d suggest asking for open street maps, which offers a self hosted tile service https://www.maptiler.com/server/
Least you got it working again!
Exactly, they don’t want you to have time to think and call but even if weird any place I’ve used or worked has been fine with you calling back on the main line yourself to make sure it’s the right place.
Taking that time to think is hard in the moment though.
