Hieroglyphs are actually not that simple, my ex gf was an Egyptologist, I went to quite a few lectures with her, that was a highly complex language, more akin to Japanese Kanji, with deep layered subtexts. Those desert dudes were crazy. If you have ever have a chance to visit a lecture about hieroglyphs, do it, it’ll blow your mind. Or how they calculated time, or even saw it, culturally and individually, wow. They were so unbelievably far ahead, I sometimes compare them to the octopus of human development, they should rule the world, but there was that one thing, that prevented it. That one year before college when I worked at a carpenter (just to get my head straight again after those years of frustration) is still following me, I love my small workshop at home & chipping away on scrap wood, building small furniture here and there.

Dremel, polishing paste fine and very fine, polishing wheel and wobbles, and time. Test it on a small part, maybe under the ear piece, if you can pull it. Works with a bit of heat, mostly. Not too much heat, though. More hair dryer than a heat gun. If the discoloration is under the plating it’ll be silver in the best case, if it’s above it should work.
