Hi there!
“we”
… Might help if we knew what country you were from, mate. Which dollar? Which country?
But where does the extra money and infrastructure come from to provide everything they need?
More people means more mouths to feed, more strain on the limited housing market driving prices and inaccessibility up, more capacity required at hospitals, doctor’s surgeries, schools, all public services (meaning everything from more doctors, nurses, consumables, locations, etc needed), and so on.
Where does the money come from to provide for the net influx of 500,000+~ people a year, a population increase of some 0.75%?
I’m not against immigration, welcoming people from other cultures with fresh ideas and outlooks on life is great and I love it, but the strain it places immediately on our already failing societal systems, such as healthcare, education, housing availability, job availability, etc, is very real, and needs to be addressed.
He refuses to update the identification info for contributers? Why? It’s the least they can do for people who offer their time and expertise for the project.
Presumably he’d be happy to do so if they got married and changed their name, so it sounds like he’s probably a transphobe, right?
How is this invading someone’s privacy? All it’s doing is detecting if children are smoking in a room or space at school and then putting an alert up about the detection on a screen.
They have zero right to privately smoke at school, or anywhere for that matter, smoking is illegal for children and not something to be taken lightly.
Similarly, adults have no right to privately smoke whilst in the workplace in the bathroom or other non-smoking designated areas. This is also illegal and not to be taken lightly.
I wish there were another answer, I’ve wondered similar things myself for many years and therapy is always the solution everyone suggests.
The problem is, where I live therapy is only available to wealthy people. It’s not something I’ll ever have access to :-(
Let’s not be angry at the Devs, it’s the publishers and other execs we should be pissed at :-(
Where would max even come from? That’s not in their username o.O
They come as a package, I’ve never seen the trousers on sale on their own o.O
Any clothing shop will have them, Debenhams, Next, Matalan is a good shout actually try there, you’ll even find them places like George. Anywhere that sells night clothes really.
Just pick cotton rather than polyester for your pajamas, much more comfy :-)

Software has already been doing a lot of stock market buying and selling for many years, even before AI came along, I imagine that sort of concept but on a more expansive scale, for a start!
Jello like jelly? The wobbly wobbly stuff you have with ice cream and the like?
I make it every few months to have with ice cream.
Wibble
I’m not focusing on the things that don’t affect me in some way, and I’m still miserable.
I agree that staying informed is extremely depressing. But what would you have me do, stick my head in the sand and ignore what my government it’s doing? Ignore the growing control and power the rich capitalist ruling class have over us all year by year? Or ignore what the growing fascist powers within my nation and other important places like the USA are doing? Or how the global climate for humans is collapsing and what’s causing it?
Most of these things directly impact me right now, and will continue to have an even greater impact as time goes on.
I’m not focusing on news stories that have no impact on me. I don’t care what Elon Musk had for breakfast, what the latest hot celebrity is doing, or what the Royal family is up to. Even so, only focusing on what affects me and my family is a huge, deeply depressing weight that is ever growing.
I agree, it’s awful. But the world, for all the beauty it also contains, is growing ever more awful day by day. I just can’t find it in me to bury my head in the sand and hope it’ll all turn out fine, so instead I stay informed and stay miserable :-(
We can’t fight back if we don’t understand our enemy and what they’re doing to us. We can’t make informed decisions about who to vote for, for example, if we don’t follow those political parties and politicians track records, their history of decisions and statements and so on.
People who ignore the day to day stuff and then show up to do 10 minutes of bullet point blurb research to figure out who to vote for are not likely to gain a clear understanding of the parties or candidates true beliefs and intentions. The same is true for companies, we need to stay informed on what they say, what they actually do, so we can be informed on whether we want to work for them, or use their products and services, etc etc.
We must stay informed. They want us uninformed so they can manipulate us with ease. Ignorance is bliss, but at what price?
Anyway, it’s a quandary, and a sad one, I agree for sure 🫂
There’s very few products which everyone can objectively say are designed for killing.
Agreed, it’s very rare, guns are absolutely one of those things though. They’re the perfect evolution of the personal handheld killing tool. You just point it at the thing you want dead, push the button, and you’ve got a good chance of deadding it immediately with your first try.
Guns don’t have a secondary use, like how a knife can whittle a tree branch into a nice spoon, or cut some thread, or skin an animal. Guns cause massive damage to whatever they are pointed at, and sometimes to the things around that thing too, if you’re particularly unlucky.
They’re the solution to a problem when you need the solution to be “escalate this situation to 1000% and start killing stuff”.
Gun manufacturers who say they’re made for defence and not killing must be delusional or confused about what their products do, or just lying to their potential customers for… who even knows what reason.
They are made to defend yourself by killing the person you need to be defended from. Pure and simple. They are truly as cut and dry a tool for killing things as there is.
Nobody is out there shooting people defensively with some non-lethal mode built in to their high speed projectile metal lumps that tear through the human body, causing parts of it to explode and massive trauma to the surrounding tissues and organs.
Do guns exist that fire beanbags, or tranquilliser darts, or such? Absolutely, but none of us here are talking about those types of more specialist guns. We’re talking about your standard gun, the kind they sell to lots of civilians in countries like the USA.
It’s worth noting that you’re looking at conservatives from a USA perspective, which is valid and very informative, it’s just that OP didn’t specify a country, so it might also be worth discussing conservative vs liberal culture in places like Europe too, or perhaps prefacing your wonderfully detailed response with something to clarify that when you’re talking about conservatives, you mean a very specific subset of them (as opposed to, say, the conservatives of the UK, where their political party is itself called the Conservative Party).
Rock on! :-D
SMS are completely free? I mean yeah, they cost money back in 2009, but that was a loooooong time ago.
Wherever you are, you’re being completely screwed, yeah.
a normal box joint or even a rabbit joint is actually stronger
For anyone confused I looked it up, a rabbet joint is what they call a rebate joint in the USA. Learn something new every day! :-D
I have slippers for when I want to cook in the kitchen or nip outside for a minute, etc. Other than that, I just wear my socks indoors.
Also of course, don’t wear dirty shoes past the entryway of the house. If they’re not dirty that’s another story, but if they are, off they come.
If you’re in the UK, any targeted throttling of your connection is considered traffic shaping and is illegal pretty much always.
Your ISP is required to publish documentation on all traffic throttling that they employ, even if it’s none. Check out their documentation and see what it says, if you’re in the UK.
As someone in the UK, I already live within a 15 minute walk of most of these.
Is it really that bad over there? If you’re not within a quick walk to the shops, or the doctors, or school, tram and bus stops, opticians, dentists, etc, how do you and the kids get anything done?
Who would intentionally move somewhere like that? The first thing we do when looking at moving to a new place is see what services are within walking distance, to get an idea for how worth it living there would be.
If you’ve got to walk 30+ minutes just to get to the shops? That’s an arse ache you don’t want.
No, it’s food preparation but nothing is being cooked.
