I know you’re interested in using Kailh choc sunsets but if it’s really just the low profile factor and not the ergo-split part you’re interested in, have you considered any of the low profile options from Keychron? They make both a 65% and 75% low profile board: Keychron K7 Pro (65%)
I’ve heard that their banana and mint low profile switches are quite nice and very tactile.
I don’t have a corne but that’s still a nice looking kit!
I like it but… sparingly. It needs to be used with intention and preferably as an accent.
Haha, too red? Oh, you mean the housing color itself?
Were the pro reds a little too light for your liking?
Now that I understand combos, what are tap dances?
Oh, interesting! QMK enables some pretty impressive stuff!
What do you mean by a combo?
Thank ya!
Yeah, that does make sense. So where’s enter for you?
Makes sense to me.
Maybe it’s non conventional? Guess it just sorta came naturally and I just hit space with which ever thumb was on the hand opposite of the last pressed key as I was finishing up a word.
Ah, I’m having to relearn to type a bit since I learned to touch type as a kid and hit space with both thumbs.
Ah, that’s an interesting place to put it, hadn’t considered that location!
100% agree on both counts.
This was my reasoning for it too. Guess with enter on left you can mouse and hit enter at the same time?
I’ve heard those are nice! I have boba U4T, arguably some of the nicest mx style tactiles. I liked them for a while but then moved to box whites and now I’m back on a linear kick. Who knows, maybe I’ll check out the sunsets at some point. Thanks for the recommendation!
Beyond using a modifier here and there, not using combos at the moment since my board has 60 keys and most everything can be on the base layer. Did you try silvers at all? Or just the pro reds?
Lol, thanks for the tip! Definitely the opposite direction of what I was thinking.
Thanks for the tip! I’d looked at their options when I was shopping for my sofle. I decided to go with the kit from Keebmaker because they were US based and I wouldn’t need to pay exorbitant shipping but I just sent email asking if they have an option to purchase their choc case as a standalone.
