Cool! I already have a decent PC, but I entered anyways. I’m excited for the new expansion!

Raiding/Fractals/Strikes might be tough to start as a group of 2-3, but you can look for learning groups until you feel confident enough to just join randoms.
I learned to do fractals from following guild members back in the day, and now that I’m coming back after a 6 year hiatus, I’m just doing tier 2 or tier 3 dailies and enjoying them again. Strikes and raids require a bit more work, but they’re quite doable as long as you have a good teacher and can manage your mechanics on top of your role.
Awesome! I have the Warclaw since I used to be a WvW player before taking a long break, so it’ll be nice for them to feel more useful.
How are people feeling about the WvW updates? It looks like they’re trying to encourage actual fights, rather than puppies chasing tails.
Honestly, avoiding the all feed may be better for my enjoyment of the platform. On Reddit I used to just sub to my specific interests and never interacted or saw all the politics talk or general memes. When I moved here, most communities were too quiet for it to take up the same spot for me, so I started browsing by all instead.
I’ll give it a shot, thank you for the reminder/realization.
Tyrian Alliance? Is this essentially the new fill-in for the Pact?
Ah darn, I got the $100 bundle (without the living world seasons) for my buddy just a few days before the sale. Unfortunate.
Number was plucked out of my ass. But sure, let’s look at a redwood and see when they start reproducing.
The Sierra Redwood can reproduce sexually (seeds in cones) as early as 24 years old, but one source I found said that seeds are usually not high-quality until the tree is 200+ years old. It also takes about a 2-year maturation period within the cone before being ready for planting. Other types of redwoods can reproduce asexually, which may have an effect on the rate of expression of the mutated genes.
A generation just has to be the age gap between a plant and a plant from any of its seeds. So if a tree can start to flower and drop seeds around year 3, then it’s as minimal as a 3-year gap between “generations”.
Mine is mostly a machine for travel. It’s a godsend on flights, or for keeping up with an MMO like FFXIV when I’m gone for a week or longer. It’s also handy for group things when we have a TV (Jackbox for family, or Moonrakers: Luminor for my board game group).
I was scrolling all the way down, looking for someone to mention Swatch Internet Time. I never got the hang of it, with regards to what beats related to various times of the day for myself, but I love the idea.
I ordered the Limited Edition as soon as I could get past the store errors, and it’s out for delivery right now! Unfortunately I’m out and about, but look forward to playing it soon.
This is why I’m the rules guy in my board game group. I sit down, absorb the rulebook, think about edge cases and check online for answers, simulate a game on my own, and then I get everyone together to sit down and learn the game.
Turns out the ability to hold the rules to like 6 different board games in my head, while not vital for daily life, is a superpower that I intend to fully use.
On PC, the download size is 100GB, install size is 122Gb, and the devs recommend 150GB, probably for saves and potentially mods one day.
I’m digging the Lowlands a ton, but I actually didn’t spend too much time in Grothmar. I’ve done the cycle of meta events there maybe 2-3 times total. They’re fun and interesting, but when they’re not active, I feel 0 compulsion to do anything on that map.
