  • centering the mouse on the game

Maybe I’m missing something, but… why is this a problem? You can just like, move the mouse to where you want it?

I can’t replicate this issue on mine. I recently somehow broke Gnome (again) during an update, so I finally went back to a tiling WM (awesome this time). I start the game in a separate desktop, and then when I need to do things outside of the game, I just change to another desktop using the keyboard shortcuts. Pretty sure this is possible in all WM/DEs on Linux.

  • I tried Bottles, it would not work without installing FlatSeal and telling it where the UnityPlayer.dll was. Even when I tell it which directory to run in, it cannot find the dll. So much fucking around.

Bottles makes everything waaay overly complicated with it’s isolation.

I installed Lutris and had absolutely no issues. It just worked first time. 5 minutes, 0 fuckery.

  • I don’t, but I have used Lutris before, and it kicks the crap out of Bottles. It’s real easy to use, and you can download whichever proton/wine version you like. It’s slightly less streamlined than Steam, but it’s not difficult.

You should be able to find other people’s tips online about which versions they used for these games with some searching. I’m sure you aren’t the only one.

  • Just able to decide what they are going to work on and actually put it into action

This is my biggest benefit to taking Ritalin. I have actually been able to do stuff. And not random crap like … researching Roman politics or interior commercial architecture because my interest was suddenly piqued, but actually doing things I want to do.

But there’s also a problem, as @coelecanth described below… I can focus too much. I have to make an effort to stay away from my PC after work hours and during weekends, because I’m so into learning things and finally having the ability to direct my focus leads to me overusing it and my brain actually gets sore.

There’s a more recent post on ADHD about building good habits which … it’s really the other side of the coin to this. If you can finally run for the first time in 30 years, it’s not good to run all the time. You still need to have balance.

(As an aside, I recently had to do some quite difficult things that caused me a super high level of anxiety, hands shaking level, and I really struggled with that, like moreso than I would have normally perhaps.)
