Awestruck seeing all those calls in a one hour interval. It would have been at least 2 weeks for me. Making one phone call requires a full day of pre-call preparation and after-call recovery.

There are definitely different prices when I’m logged in vs when I’m not. My wife sends me a links to products, and I usually open any link in incognito windows. Several times I was not seeing the same price as her. Opening the same link on my account would show the same price.
If I download a pirated game it’s because I don’t intend to pay for it. It’s a choice between pirating and not playing it at all. Sometimes I like the game so much that I do end up buying a legit copy too, but that wouldn’t have happened if I didn’t get to play it first.
For Switch in particular it’s because I’m a PC gamer and can’t get used to playing games on console. I do own a Switch, but I find it inconvenient to use vs the PC. I played a lot more on the emulator than I did on the real thing.
Except you don’t need to soundproof your detached house. You can run and jump and yell all you want without bothering anyone.
Based on your description we might be neighbors
To put it simple: fine china is ceramic, but so are bricks.
And do games use it? Epic Store does achievements too, but very few games actually integrate with it.
I buy games on Steam for the achievements. Honestly, if it wasn’t for Steam achievements, I’d have never made the switch from pirated games to buying them.
She looks cool af in that pic, I can’t take the comparison as a roast.
a UI library like jQuery
Um… what?
Huh. TIL. I always wondered why libraries treat ebooks like physical books.
I always thought it was for lighters
Yes, that’s what I said. My native language is a romance language too. And after speaking it her whole life, my wife has trouble getting the grasp of how in English swapping two words completely changes the meaning of what she’s saying (especially when it’s two nouns, like e.g. “parent council”)
The thing is that in French, Spanish, etc. it still makes sense if you put the adjective before the noun, even if it might sound weird in some cases. An adjective is an adjective and a noun is a noun.
But English is positional. Where you put a word gives it its function. So “red car” and “car red” mean different things.

In my area (San Francisco Bay Area) it depends on how much pedestrian traffic is expected. I live in the suburbs and, as I said, the walking light only goes on if the button is pressed. But if I go to San Francisco itself, lights are all on a timer (and there are no buttons at all).
Also, some of the traffic crossing buttons don’t make the walk cycle come sooner, but they occasionally are needed to insert a walk cycle at all, because some intersections don’t trigger a walk cycle unless the button has been pressed.
Some? In my area all the lights require a button press for a walk cycle. Even if the traffic lights turn red for the cars (e.g. in an intersection for cross-traffic), the pedestrian lights will stay red too unless the button was pressed.
I’m turning 40, I have 2 kids, and my self-image hasn’t changed since high-school. I have to consciously think about it to realize that other people see an adult when looking at me. Like my first reaction when I do something “grown-up” is to woder if people are impressed by a kid acting so mature, and then I realize that I’m not a kid anymore.
I have 2 children. Insurance covered almost everything. The out of pocket expenses for the hospital were something like $700, not thousands. For doctor’s visits it was just the $20 co-pay for each visit, and all the labs were fully covered.
That’s exactly it. It’s confort food for a lot of Americans. I grew up in a different country, where home cooking was the norm and fast food was considered a huge waste of money. I of course tried it when I got my own money, but there was no reason for it to stick with me. So now fast food places don’t even register as an option for me if I ever find myself needing to eat from outside the house. But I’ve seen my friends in the US talk about fast food, their eyes gleaming talking about the Whatever Burger at Whatever Fast Food and the Whatever Taco at Another Fast Food and always get the Whatever Sauce at Yet Another Fast Food. The same way they talk about Twizzlers or Twinkies or other absolute junk that they would never touch if it didn’t bring them back to their childhood.
