Except for a very few niche use cases (subtitles for hearing-impaired) almost every aspect of it (techbros, capitalism, art-theft, energy-consumption, erosion of what is true etc etc) is awful and I’ll not touch it with a stick.

From what years are these? I recently installed Linux on a crappy laptop from 2018 (Inspiron 7373) and everything works perfectly except that it never wakes up from sleep on multiple distros (updated and changed lots of things in BIOS as well, no dice).

That’s interesting, I’m doing [clean names inserted by arr software: series name sxxexx] - [original filename] which has served me well over the years. That wayI can still search subs via the original file name if Bazarr doesn’t pick it up (which hasn’t happenend in a long while, tbh).

Yeah for NVDIA you either wanna use a distro that bakes it in (Bazzite, PopOS) or hop over to tge command line and install the drivers there, e. g. Fedora:

No idea how GUIs are for this nowadays (Manjaro, Linix Mint, Ubuntu, back when I used those distros it wasn’t working too well most of the time).

I sometimes wonder if this really would be the case or if people would step up. Realistically I’m afraid you need a big team to develop a browser that can do everything from videocalls to online docs and 3d games (not very good but it’s kinda amazing).
