Google is the Google of Linux. They actually make their own distro
Spent a ton of time trying to install GrapheneOS because web USB doesn’t work in snap version of chrome. How about letting me install the normal deb version? Nope, can’t let the user choose
I found this that might help:

Nix is better for CLI programs since it also figured out how to avoid dependency hell
Install CLI packages with Nix. You don’t need a proprietary system
The South being down is a convention, Antarctica is actually sideways from you if you live on the equator
Just install it to your profile
I play games on Linux
Not an issue on NixOS, you can ship old deps with it
Nix: you package it yourself and do a pull request
Sadly, many flatpaks don’t even work on NixOS properly because of assumptions about the file structure or similar
No, enter gate
I don’t use those, I select my own components using SystemD OS.
Like my configuration actually has to specify whether I’m using gnome or KDE, nothing is “by default” in my distro except for SystemD
When I see an Arch user, I see a future NixOS user FWIW
You must not be using an Nvidia GPU on Wayland because KDE is pushing updates for this use case
What’s why we have NixOS. The unstable channel is more stable than most other distros and when it’s not, you just roll back
I mean, I tried KDE+Wayland on an Nvidia GPU and it’s still not properly working. It should work soon, but it worked okay on gnome for like a year now
NixOS, surprised nobody mentioned it
In any case, the company who makes the vaccines doesn’t pay it. Ubuntu could make the argument you get the security upgrades if the government wants to pay for them
How do you think research for vaccines is funded? Someone pays for vaccines for deadly diseases eventually
I use NixOS, FWIW
