Anti-genocide protesters did more than just pick up a phone and call. We all saw the result.

I might not agree with the moderation practices or even their opinions, but that doesn’t make them crazy.
I did, and still didn’t see the crazy. In fact, all it did was make me wonder why an instance with such little activity gets talked about so much.
I sometimes run into this when I extract an archive file on Windows and there are files named with different cases but are otherwise the same. I prefer case-sensitivity because I like precision and fewer assumptions being made about a system and how it’s used.
Do you have any examples of this? Since world is defederated from that instance, I only end up visiting it when people like you come in and talk about how absolutely crazy it is over there, so occasionally I’ll take a curious peek. This time I see… a post about Indigenous rights, a post criticizing capitalism, a post dunking on musk, a post about FOSS… when do I start seeing the crazy?
Casholic with a lisp.
Nobody fell in love with biden in 2020. He was crowned the nominee because they told everyone that somehow out of all candidates he was the best chance against trump and democrats fell in line, just like they did in 2016 for hillary.
Evil motherfuckers tend to live forever, unfortunately. It’s the pure concentrated hate that sustains them.
C is almost the perfect subset for me, but then I miss templates (almost exclusively for defining generic data structures) and automatic cleanup. That’s why I’m so interested in Zig with its comptime and defer features.
The graph goes up for me when I find my comfortable little subset of C++ but goes back down when I encounter other people’s comfortable little subset of C++ or when I find/remember another footgun I didn’t know/forgot about.
Thanks for admitting you have no response and instead rely on a thought-terminating cliché.
There is a big gap between auth-left and auth-right thought. Auth-right thought imposes violence as an inherent part of the ideology because it promotes the idea of racial supremacy, they have to actively commit violence to achieve their goals. Auth-left uses violence on perceived threats to their order, not based on features people are born with. I do not agree with China’s actions on Tiananmen Square or their treatment of Uyghurs, but these two things are definitely used by the US as a fulcrum to attack China.
Do you not find it odd how much importance is placed on Tiananmen Square after all these decades? Do you not find it odd how hard the US hammers the point of the Uyghur genocide while at the same time fully funding and supporting the genocide of Palestinians? The tactic is to flood communication channels with propaganda to achieve domination over the narrative and this is the sort of thing we’re seeing here with countless posts about tankies. Why are we supposed to take American narratives as gospel to shut down opposing narratives?
YSK: There are countless posts by “concerned” users shrieking about tankies. What is the point of these “informational” posts? Looking to stamp out opinions you don’t like so you can turn the fediverse into astroturfed-to-hell-and-back reddit 2.0?
Success or failure depends on the goal. Perhaps outside observers can see something as a failure or success, but that doesn’t matter since you set the goals. As for which Lemmy community to post this to, I dunno.
Without a mousepad, the laser on my mouse leaves marks on my desk. It’s a cheap desk, but still.
It took me a long time to cancel but I finally did because I’d been skipping for every month over the course of maybe two years. I had found out that the classic plan doesn’t even have an advantage anymore, so there was no point in me maintaining that.
Not if you charge at home. Too bad I can’t pump gas at home.
Corporations and landlords already jack up prices as much as they can. This is a problem of lack of competition. If there is proper competition then you should be able to buy/rent cheaper things, which would drive downward pressure on prices. The problem is maintaining competition because once one entity gets big enough then it tends to buy out the rest. There is also the issue of collusion, especially collusion through software that recommends pricing based on “market” i.e. average price + extra to drive upward pressure in prices. If multiple entities are using that software to determine prices then they are colluding by proxy.
If a competitive environment is maintained, then companies will drive down prices to capture those UBI dollars since people most dependent on UBI would be looking to spread their UBI as far as they will go, so they’ll look for the lowest prices.
That’s funny that they think that the number must go up. Phones are getting more and more powerful, and I’ve actually seen pretty impressive desktop modes for them. I’m not talking about $1000 phones either, but $200 phones. You could easily do office work on such a phone with a docking station, plugged into a monitor with a keyboard and mouse. You can even do some decent gaming on such a setup.
Besides that, hardware in general just lasts longer. I built my current PC in 2016 that I’m still using and can still play new games (I played Armored Core 6 to completion most recently). With the laughable prices of graphics cards now, I’m content with keeping this system going for even more years. I may even opt to go for an APU in my next build, if only to tell nvidia to fuck off with their price gouging.
They got ignored by the people they petitioned for help.
