And I of course don’t join their stupid discord.

Playing the new God of War was great on Linux, though.
gradual@lemmings.worldto Linux Gaming@lemmy.world•Denuvo will lock you out of games on Linux, SteamOS, Steam Deck if you keep changing Proton versionsEnglish2·10 days agoHonestly, I’ve been pirating games that I own on Steam for awhile now.
It’s so fucking annoying to launch a game on Steam, only to have to sit through some update that didn’t get triggered for some stupid reason.
How come we need this additional layer on top of another layer on top of another layer?
Is there any way wine can be changed so proton and GE are not necessary?

It still wasn’t showing up, so I disconnected and reconnected my controller. Then it appeared.
The box was unchecked, but the controller’s touchpad still worked. I needed to check it, apply, and then uncheck it and apply again in order to turn off the touchpad.
I’m glad there’s a way, although there are still some bugs that need to be worked out.
gradual@lemmings.worldOPto Linux Gaming@lemmy.world•Is there a way to disable controller touchpads using a GUI?English21·10 days agoI’m using KDE.
Disabling the touchpad in the settings will disable the touchpad for the controller, but it also disables the touchpad for my laptop which I do not want.

They let you control the cursor. Actual support would be better, of course.
gradual@lemmings.worldto PC Gaming@lemmy.ca•Morrowind modders continue to astound, add object physics with 'pure lua' to a 23-year old gameEnglish2·13 days agoYeah, I remember using LUA back in the day for gmod.
Hands down one of the shittiest languages I ever touched, right down there with PHP.
Really puts into perspective how stupid developers can be when deciding the tools that they use.

Anything that you want to ‘collect’ can be downloaded and stored on an external hard drive and taken with you where you need to go.
Don’t overcomplicate things just to fit in with losers on the internet.

Exactly. They know what they’re doing and we shouldn’t pretend that they don’t.
Scumbags are all around us, hiding in plain sight.
gradual@lemmings.worldto Selfhosted@lemmy.world•Plex staff leaving review on Play Store for PlexEnglish101·14 days agoYou can tell people whatever you want and they can criticize you accordingly.
If you don’t disclose your affiliation with a company that you’re shilling, rational people will criticize you for being biased and self-serving.
If you want to avoid this completely rational, acceptable, and expected criticism, then you should reveal any conflicts of interest before or during your promotion of the business.
This shouldn’t need to be spelled out for you, but this generation has been conditioned to be proud of ignorance and defending abuse.
gradual@lemmings.worldto Selfhosted@lemmy.world•Plex staff leaving review on Play Store for PlexEnglish48·14 days agoPlex has always been shilled hard for useful idiots with more money than sense.
Like, free streaming services are right there. Why overcomplicate things just so you can fit in with other losers on the internet?
I swear, so many of you are leaning on each other without realizing none of you have a clue what’s going on.

Always gotta overcomplicate things.
