Gotcha, okay. So you could do it either way, but for most people ($125k and below per person) it’s probably just better to use the feie it seems
This is great, thanks for sharing all this.

Dumb question, did you fully power down and power up your Deck?

I thought it was a Form 1116 thing, but I could be wrong for sure. IANAL and haven’t yet done foreign taxes so who knows yet
Yeah, it goes up faster than inflating each year, it seems. 126,400 per person or 253k for married I believe this year, which is a pretty fair bit especially considering you deduct the taxes you locally pay off the top first, afaik
Do you live abroad? I’m expatting in a few weeks (long planned, not in a pure panic due to Trump) and would love ask a few questions if so!
One chicken I had was named Kekardo and that name still absolutely cracks me up. We refer to our cat as Kekardo sometimes
Quite good. Sans any real spoilers:
Space is a lot more accessible in the early game, and in space ~~no one can hear you scream ~~ there’s a lot more complications than normal, including really turning factory planning and scaling on its head on one planet.
Really mixed it up, much more than the SE mod did (which was good, but just felt like scaling more than unique challenges)
I like all of this, including your meme denial
I’m an idiot, no clue how I missed that
It’s somehow not on the list? That’s actually unbelievable
Idk why you’re being downvoted. Petrochemicals are used for a bunch of stuff, including plastics manufacturing.
We should switch to renewables as quickly and completely as we can, but it wouldn’t eliminate 100% of oil use
I opted out of this over a month ago, still opted out.
Wonder how long they’ve been doing this …
Yeah, a truck would make me feel better. It’s definitely a risk to move it myself uninsured. For comparison, looks like post tax prices delivered of ~14-18% more in Denmark than the US where we are.
That’s a fair bit, but I’m not sure we’re in the market to try this hard to save a few hundred dollars in such a massive move. I lean towards selling, especially once we packed a big suitcase and it went VERY quick with stuff we love lol
Very very little to move. Just what we can carry onto planes basically. Hoping to stay in a spot for many years, but you never know. The packaging is a good idea, I should price compare properly
Oh that’s a great call. I’ll have to look and find the balance here between ship and buy.
Great suggestion, I think making them ready to play might be the move
They’re not super old, we’ve got some pics and such we like obviously. Maybe ~100 gigs total of “important files” but it sounds nice to have “my computer” back when I arrive?
Love your write up. I feel similarly, and many many randomizer runs (Archipelago.gg is great for it), speedruns, and classic playthroughs later I still find the atmosphere and music incredible
So I had shoulder surgery a few weeks ago. I spent a lot of one-handed time on the couch. Played some Shapez 2 with a mouse on the couch via the deck, I played some the Witness (goofily with one hand on my xbox controller), some Slay the Spire, and some Stray
Been nice to have the ability to not sit at my computer when it was too uncomfortable
That’s so cool!
How old (ish) were you when you moved?
Did you speak any Japanese before?
Any consideration towards relocating again?
Any other stories you want to share?
