No. .social is a Top Level Domain(TLD) just like .com, .org, or .net
They’re no more connected than Facebook.com and Apple.com are.
Now, they could be run by the same folks; I have no idea on that front, but you can’t tell simply by the TLD

Replies in here really showing why teachers are so tragically underpaid 😔

This is just code for ‘poop knife’, right?
My man - thanks for sharing your story with us. You made my day better for it.
And as I typed to a wrestling community what I intended to be a beautiful story, I realized it’s only beautiful to me because of my own repressed perspective.
It was a wonderful story even without the full context. I don’t know what the online wrestling community is like, but unless they’re a bunch of jerks they’ll enjoy it too; whether you decide to share it with or without your personal context.
Sure - do whatever you want. There are users on this very instance that I downvote every post they make rather than block.
I also have comment(s?) in this very thread about when I downvote it.
Unless your goal is to spread misinformation
EXACTLY
This is why anyone vehemently opposed to it is an instant 🚩for me
Other people clearly don’t think it’s a helpful resourcem
They should block it.
It gets weird when folks start trying to keep everyone else from having it available as a resource.
Some folks are just angry it exists and downvote it no matter what.
I’ll downvote it sometimes, early in the discussion, to get other comments above it and get it out of the way, but only if the source is a reliable one. I only ever really upvote it if I think the source needs attention called to it.
I think it’s far from perfect, and have made suggestions on improvements to the mods, but overall think it’s helpful.
There is definitely a cohort of weirdos that are enraged by it and aren’t content with simply blocking it and feel they are the saviors of all Lemmy-kind and are fixated on eradicating it for everyone.
…or is fact checking just getting in the way of your promotion of Cornel West and Jill Stein?
I have multiple calendars, but I’m not exactly happy with my setup so I’m interested in what kind of answers you get.
I have maintenance calendars for both the house and my car for things like replacing filters, cleaning fans, changing oil, etc. It’s mostly regular recurring maintenance, but I also add any car projects in the car maintenance calendar (e.g. replace head gasket, overhauled cooling system) for record keeping.
I have a foraging calendar where I note when and where I’ve found different things e.g:
After that I have a Personal calendar which is where I pretty much dump everything else like Dr appointments, friends travel plans, reservations, etc.
Do something “Notable” then add yourself.
I think all the info available is in the mod log (e.g. https://lemmy.world/modlog).
Not sure if it’s in your instances modlog, the moderator’s or both
At least someone got the joke…
most Western people will float above the bottom of their nose
Is that true of salt and fresh water? I’m pretty comfortable floating around in salt water but have grown paranoid with age about fresh water.
Best bet is just have kids so you can splash and wade around with them…
The problem is because of the small size I personally browse the “Local” feed by “New”which gives me every post to every community on Lemmy.world
ETA To be clear; I’m still talking about blocking; not banning.
Also, I did see at least one community had a soft limit on how much was reasonable to post a day, but I forget which one it was 🤔
I don’t get it. I work full time and have no problem wasting my
lifeI mean time here…
