The Steam Deck is a slightly funny shaped x86_64 laptop. It has an AMD APU in it. You can hook it up to a monitor, mouse and keyboard and do your taxes on it if you want.
You know what the main difference between the Steam Deck OLED and the PS5 Pro is? Customers wanted and asked for the Steam Deck OLED.
The one that does what I need it to do on the device I’m running it on. I’ve currently got four different Linux distros on x86 PCs around my house at this moment.
I think it knows the phrase “of the wild” because Zelda. It did accurately call Fedora a fork of something, I can’t explain “repeated blood.”
Fedora KDE is a fork of the wild repeated blood of the wild repeated blood of the wild repeated blood of the wild repeated blood of the wild repeated blood of the wild repeated blood of the wild repeated blood of the wild repeated
you guys my phone had a stroke.
Asterisk: At 1 atmosphere of pressure. Lots of people forget that part.
At the font sizes I tend to view text in, I can read text clearly but emoji just look like blobs. The details are so small that ALL of the faces look like yellow circles.
There are so many emoji, many of them with only slight differences between them, that they render each other meaningless.
So many of them are being used as something else and keeping up with their actual meaning is just not worth the time.
As I type this I"m in the process of building a new computer, going from a GTX-1080 to an RX7900GRE, and it’s relatively small, I got a 2-fan Asrock Challenger one and while it’s bigger than the 1080 it’s not as big as some I’ve handled. It’s amazing how they managed to pack the 1080 into such a small package. I guess the blower fan helps.
I seem to remember they started doing those daisy chain power connectors back in the SLi days. Take the GeForce 6800GT for example, which was a single slot card rated for 67 watts and had a single 6-pin power socket. You could safely drive two of them in SLi on a single 150 watt PCIe power cable. Hell they’d probably both run fine on motherboard power.
Yeah you want to know the funny thing: I ended up on Github a lot when I was new to Linux, but that has happened less and less over time and I think it’s due to two unrelated factors:
I have assimilated. As a Microsoft emigrant, I was used to doing things a certain way, there were things I didn’t know about Linux, I hadn’t really chosen the hardware I owned for Linux compatibility, etc. So I kept having to go get weird device drivers and weird little software packages to work on my distro and open my old files and such. But as I’ve gotten used to the ecosystem, replaced my old hardware with that which is Linux compatible out of the box etc. I’ve needed to do something weird less and less often.
Flatpak and Appimages have risen in popularity. It’s easier to get the software you need, that runs on your distro, that is up to date and modern, even if it’s not very popular. Because a variety of software is available in these formats it’s easy to get what I need, be it commercial software, esoteric little stuff for my niche pastimes, etc.
As much as I enjoy shitting on Catholics (I would hang out on a church roof pretending to be a pigeon if I could get away with it) the title of this post would be accurate with one fewer word. “Apparently, dating is all about money.”
A couple more election cycles and it’ll be inhabitable.
So the fediverse equivalent of rtv?
My 3D printer does occasionally prove itself useful. I print stuff to help me out in the shop, adapters for shop vacs, tool holders, stuff like that. I could do without it but it is a useful tool to have.
Currently eating grilled cheese. Computer runs Linux. Used butter.
I once wrote a Python script that implemented this song, I could probably abuse that old program to make this nonsense happen.

I wonder what would happen if it was a singed long, and it landed somewhere in the negatives after overflowing multiple times?
Negative forty-eight thousand, six hundred thirty-three bottles of beer on the wall,

You take one down, pass it around,

Ubuntu is dead on the desktop.
