It saving billions isn’t argument against it being good for employees/most people. If say the government introduced a bill that required every company to send 5% of their money to Russia, fighting the hell out of that bill would save them billions and would be in line with what most Americans want. There are more realistic ones like pretty much every iteration of the kids online safety act.

I think this miscommunication is more on you for taking it as an attack towards yourself when it was pretty clearly suspicious towards at&t, not you. If the goal is to share clean links, getting the url after the redirect accomplishes it. The tracking that’s done isn’t on your friends/whoever you share the link with, but done on the app. Which does generally defeat the purpose of their tracking.

You’re right. Notepad++ still lists macs as using CR for their EOL conversion tool, so I didn’t realize.

Windows uses CR LF (carriage return, line feed), whereas Unix just uses LF. For added fun, macs use CR.

Most of what they use your data for is to serve you ads. If you’re blocking ads, that data isn’t all that valuable.
