almost no one in China feels that their state is an oppressive force, they feel the opposite. The government has more than a 90% approval rating. The overwhelming majority of Chinese people view their society as legitimate and socialist. If you had any interest in democracy at all you’d respect this perspective instead of imposing your own
point is focus your criticisms on your own society that’s 1000x worse than even the most exaggerated crimes about China, cracker. Chinese people aren’t children and they can handle their own country in their own way, they don’t need some forum poster condescending to them and you don’t need a warped preoccupation with a country that probably has nothing to do with you
i’m sure Chinese people need patronizing crackers from the west to instruct them on what communism actually is
Yeah, cities in America from around 1870 to 1920 had extensive trolleycar networks. They were so widespread you could hop between them and even travel across state lines. Every major city had them and they were the primary mode of urban transportation. Now cities only have trolleycars as a novelty, like San Francisco still has theirs. New Orleans has beautiful streetcar lines. They’re mostly used for tourists, but if they were made more extensive and modernized then New Orleans could have very functional mass transit.
Most of the trolley networks were ripped up to make room for extra lanes or parking lots. It wouldn’t be easy, but it would be possible to repurpose existing roads for trams/trolleys. I really believe this.
A return to trolleys would also be lovely. A lot of American cities are already laid out with trolleycars in mind.

Yeah I believe even that should change. Everything should change to incorporate fewer or no cars, including small towns.
Yeah I just don’t see it. If we want to reduce oil/gas use then the goal would be eliminating private car use altogether and providing alternatives. EVs are still a huge machine designed to transport a single person. They’re still a waste, not to mention how much the global south is getting exploited for their lithium.
Cars just aren’t going to save anything. Here, I’ll compromise. Electric bicycles.

EVs aren’t a solution to anything except as a way to trick people into thinking purchasing a car is saving the environment or helping fix society.
If liberals are so shallow that they adopt racism because someone was mean to them online, then I’m glad they’re being more honest. The message is that cars, all cars, are something worth fighting against. Electric cars are not a step in the right direction, they’re not even a bandaid. They’re just something liberals can purchase to make them feel like they’re helping something. They’re toys.
Honestly I would rather if most liberals outright come out as conservative, because it sounds like they’re on the line already. It would be more honest of them.

I appreciate Postal 2 because the premise is kinda funny. It’s deliberately designed so you can beat it without doing any violence at all. You’re given tasks like get milk, pick up your paycheck, etc. And it involves standing in lines or people berating you. You’re stuck doing tedious annoying repetitive tasks, or you can get a flamethrower. I think standing in line to get Gary Coleman’s autograph takes 90 minutes if you do it normally.

This movie uses faces as a theme but I’ve never quite made a comprehensive theory about it.
The criminals often have distinguishing facial characteristics. Mama has a big scar, her hacker has giant eyes, a lot of the gang members have facial scars or tattoos. But then theres Dredd who has no face. Much of the violence done is to faces as well, lots of scenes of people shot or smacked in the head.
