Anecodtally (at this point, this is all these discussions are), I think that Apathy, fear campaigns or outright money and campaigns ect become powerful levers where voting is non-mandatory.

Blaming young people is up their with blaming immigrants and “gays” ect for [insert topic]. I would be very surprised if this was the case.

Non mandatory voting wouldnt help, being that its more susceptible to eroding a merit process from campaigns of fear or otherwise.

Preface: I’m now completely moved over to nixos and installing a bloody windows drive.

NaturalPoint did some nasty stuff to opentrack and we all suffered.

TLDR proprietary devices prefer proprietary drivers. Additionally any directX game that strains hardware pretty much requires windows or you pay in framerate. Experimental wine and proton can lose a lot of performance. Thankfully more development teams are supporting vulkan and native linux.

If your used to shell it’s really set and forget and a simple install would be very easy to configure. Best part being if you need to reinstall (highly unlikely for nixos being how easy it is to change OS config back) but it saves you an enormous amount of time on your subsequent installs/reinstalls. Anyway, getting preachy.

Its not just a much larger repo but also much more fresh, additionally can be used on any distro really
