  • Can confirm humidity doesn’t help. Salt water drying on your skin can also make it worse, just a fun fact, so rinse off as often as you can when leaving the water to help prevent it.

Also these people are insane. I’ll take a dry heat over humidity I can’t hardly breathe through any day. Sweat exists for a reason, humidity won’t let you benefit from it.

Reddit wasn’t welcoming to opinions outside the hivemind either, you just didn’t notice because you were inside it.

You’re basically telling everyone to be nice and pretend these same kinds of people who killed reddit for us won’t kill the fediverse when we have every reason to believe they will, and you don’t want us to talk about it or do anything about it?

I don’t really get why you’re here in the first place. If you liked reddit and don’t hate modern social media why not just stay there? People came here to avoid what meta could do to the fediverse and avoid what reddit became. Why are you acting surprised that people are acting that way?

  • Same. I understand why it’s like that, all instances need to be able to see the information. But there must be a way to do this without the instances understanding exactly which users are doing what. Something like zkproofs or hashes or whatever (I’m not a programmer, clearly), there is surely some way to do it while maintaining some privacy.

It gives a lot of data on users to see exactly what they upvote and downvote. Especially with AI being able to go through that data very quickly. It wouldn’t be hard to find out a user’s political leanings, general IRL location, age, gender, so many personal details they don’t want to share that could be used against them through advertising or worse.
