Most people with old car stereos these days use Bluetooth FM transcievers, I can’t imagine having to burn CDs and then fiddle with them while driving in 2024. It makes more sense to use physical media at home but in the car? I really don’t see the point.
The slower the burn speed, the better. Less chances of error. Aside from that discs are kind of pointless in 2024 when you can have much cheaper, smaller and easier to use flash storage.
Unless maybe you’re archiving something on special, heavy duty DVDs, otherwise why bother?
The point is that you have to pay for that windows that you’re going to erase anyways. It’s not free.
No, I think /proc contains currently running processes. It’s best to back up your home directory, leave the system stuff to timeshift.
I ended up with Borg with Vorta GUI, it’s fantastic.
Duplicati is kinda terrible. I used it for about two years as my main backup, it was very unreliable and slow
Check out the built in search engine and Jackett, makes finding stuff so much easier.

I disagree. I think that some aspects of the software should be open about what they’re doing to everyone. Otherwise people just get used to the idea that everything is a black box that they have no real control of. It also helps educate people on IT and its concepts overall.
Even if they can’t specifically tell what is going on, they can see something is going on. And as long as this does not make it harder to use, the more info the better.
