“How dare those fit as fuck losers take lanes from me? I’ll have to exercise for once if this keeps up!”
I’m in the same boat. I wouldn’t consider myself a target in my current government regime but who knows what will happen in the future. Even though I don’t do anything illegal per se I just don’t trust politicians.
The goddamn mega corpos are just something else though. I’d appreciate the template!
I actually really liked this. I’m gonna have to do my own now ;) . What is your threat model ?
Whoa, that’s true. Hopefully doesn’t play out that way!
I think “normal society” will not be too embedded into the fediverse. The nature of its framework and the hoops you jump through to get into the verse keeps them out. (It’s absolutely easy btw otherwise I wouldn’t be making this comment)
I kinda like it that way. Plus I don’t have to deal with Nazi’s, racism, and overt data surveillance with my current federation set up so I’ll never go back.
So these noname boxes are good for making a hardware firewall/network?
As long as user profiles and contributions can transfer between instances, especially if the process is easy, then instances coming and going won’t be that much of a problem.
I do hope that current and future open source tech moves towards monetization resistance if monetization can’t be done ethically. Donation and volunteers seem to be the working formula so far
It’s a valid point, but unfortunately your non bullshit options are limited to replacing the OS with something like Graphene or Lineage.
The powers that be REALLY want your data.
Microsoft concerns me greatly, but they seem to be in transition to primarily software/cloud based tech.
I’ll sign the petition while not getting hopes up, but this is the iteration of Microsoft most likely to pull such a crazy move
That ain’t no joke. Pisses me off that information is gatekept and shopwalled. Almost rverything off the net is monetized, why does cyberspace need the same treatment?
I use these at work. That is a sleeve style clamp used to seal off leaks
