You may know this, but if not…
Keep in mind they’re likely referring to the philosophy of liberalism, not the United States “liberal=progressive/left leaning”.
Ugh, blockchain. During the pandemic, I had absolutely no work to do so my boss asked me to make a presentation for him to present on the merits of blockchain. When my response was that it’s overhyped bullshit, he was not thrilled.
I made the requested presentation but it made me feel dirty, so I alt texted every slide’s graphics to include the counterpoint to the bullshit benefits being presented.
I’m for it, assuming everyone has equal access to a robust, non-biased education and sufficient resources to have the time and energy to utilize it; the test isn’t designed to exclude by race, class, gender, etc.; and it is designed to simply ascertain whether or not a person is capable of self-directed, rational decision making versus voting for the prettiest or most charismatic candidate or the candidate who will “hurt the right people”.
Many politicians would not want any of that.
In my fantasy, they’re Star Trek style space communists as they’re more than intelligent enough to make rational decisions.
I’m still rooting for benevolent aliens stepping in, telling humanity it’s not capable of self care, and forcing us to clean up the planet so we can live on it as a wildlife preserve.
Who writes and administers the test? And who ensures everyone has equal access to education so a non-voting underclass isn’t created?
The United States used to have a “voting literacy test” which effectively existed to keep non-whites from voting. It was practically impossible to pass, so it was at the clerk’s discretion who could or could not vote.
Although it’s the most 'Murican advice! Which doesn’t help make it less terrible.
Learning to circumvent my parent’s fumbling attempts to keep me off of early nineties bulletin board porn made me the man I am today.
Yes, incels and just angry, bitter people everywhere! For a good time, go to a relationship sub and ask for basic relationship advice for an easily solved problem, like how to communicate to your boyfriend that you don’t want to have sex, and watch your post go down in flames.
I’m the same way. I take like a quarter hit and I’m alright. The whole puff? Gone for hours.
I’m sorry, but yes. She couldn’t resist my encyclopedic knowledge of self-hosted streaming options.
All spouses can be taught to use Plex or Jellyfin. It just takes the right approach and some determination. Mine is now sailing the high seas with the finest of us.
I appreciate the intent but this is just what happens when you put yourself out on the Internet. Hell, on an old account I made a post about how to use a waffle sandwich maker with cheddar biscuit mix and it was 10% downvoted. I think it’s some combination of valid (if unstated) criticism, accidental downvotes, and some people just being assholes.
I don’t care, I’m just trying to provide what I think is useful information. If people have a problem but don’t speak up about it, I can’t do anything so I’m not going to worry about it. As another poster mentioned below, they’re welcome to a full refund. I’ll even triple it. Triple refund!
I’m on blahaj so I don’t see downvotes. I’m guessing people who (incorrectly) think my statement of the details of the law is my support for it.
I just respond with a hearty “yeeearghhhh!” and continue the conversation. The coworkers that know get it, the rest think I’m a lunatic.
Agreed. The only time I was suspended was because I filed a charge back for an incomplete, buggy game that was sold as finished. It took so long to even get running that I was just over the refund time limit and they refused to make an exception. There was some verbiage about being banned if I continued to do charge backs. I just stopped using Steam.
It’s the second largest instance, plus it’s the original instance. I can see why one or both of those facts might draw someone. Maybe they thought it was hosted in Mali!
Yeah, so all you have is shit you read. Brilliant.

I can’t tell - do I need to read a book or live on the coast? Message unclear.
This is the real pro tip.
