  • That depend.

On the mental side, you can stop watching those news. They will basically tell you the same thing, again and again.

The only real news will be when they stop.

You should care because these human are killed. We may reach a third world wars. Or see an increase of fuel price ? Anyway, it will impact us.

On the other way, you are watching it from a very distant land. So you can focus on your area, local community and don’t give a damn, it’s fine too, we can’t be everywhere. Or give support to those civilisian under bombe strike.

  • I play at low rez. So it's mostly blury but correct and i'm used to low res game. Gunning is fine, it's smooth but i might be wrong as i don't play shooter a lot so i can't tell the difference.

I have some issue with driving car and the sound. There a kind of warp and i find hard to control the car. So i recommend a motorcycle, you can move easily between cars at fast speed.

I can't aim very accurately with joystick, so i geared my build toward intelligent gun and lot hacking.

The new hack system removed the sneaking. It forces us to act quickly, launch other hack before jumping to the guning part.

And for the new area, i haven't explored it yet so i don't know how the steamdeck will manage it. I'm kinda annoyed because most game increase performance and it's not always a good thing.

  • Cyberpunk 2077 and BG3, i started cyberpunk before the update with the new skill tree.

It's interesting, different. i think i prefer the old skill tree and its leveling mechanic. However, in the first version V have a poor clothing taste, it was almost as her second job was being a clown in an hospital. And i didn't understand why i couldn't make a good suit.

So Devs corrected lot issue and i'm enjoying the ride even if the story has some problem with the spacing…The main quest and secondary missions doesn't mix well, and i found out that Takamura could wait few weeks in basement until i finish few stuff. :)

  • Yeah, those game are great. Stranded, will look that. There is also Eco. And i would add getting over it :)

Another economical system ? Let's say universal income, bank of time ? Libre currency ? An anarchy system with several democraty system and quadratic vote ? A shared decision along other mayors (players) ? I'm willing to explore those ideas where the idea of grow is simply erased along infinite ressource. Basnished is somewhat close to it as resources are limited.

Something that follow GIEC's recommendation where building the biggest city will result a game over and economic collapse.

Horizontality skill system. Veloren try to do that but it's not what i'm seeking. Maybe soul game are closer as you learn how to be better instead of using skill, weapon, armor ? It would erase the experience point in rpg system. There is no grow. You are just a human with the same set as everyone. No better armor, no new skills. So you can be killed by a new player.

Collaborative game instead competitive one . There are lot ideas to explore as relationship. :)

  • Hmmm, quite hard to choose. I would say an anticapitalist game. Most of game focus on growing, gaining power and i never saw an game that has horizontal power hard coded to its bone.

For example : city skyline unlock new building based on population threesold. The city development is geared toward growing, expanding and creating new job. That's bad. We can't live in this kind of world anymore and yet we fail to imagime something different.

Can't we imagine a new economical system and set up new variable ? Or a game that go beyond the scope of heroes's story ? Why should we be special ?

Steamdeck will be a good replacement for a gaming laptop and less expensive. Mine is 1 year old. Almost every games work well on Linux thank to Valve and Wine, i don’t see any problems with your games. And you can emulate old game on Linux but i never tried it.

    There is some issue :

    • you can’t play Kenshi, City Skyline. You will need a dock, keyboard and maybe a bigger screen.
    • Some game use a launcher that will block ya from playing it. Hence why some player decide to install Windows. (Blame the editor, not Valve)
    • The Steamdeck handle well AAA title but it will drain its battery quickly. Elden ring can last 2h i think.

And imho, you should never install Windows. Why ? To increase Linux market share. So game editor will work on their launcher and make them compatible with Linux. And there is plenty gaming console on Windows, lot PC on windows. Windows’s gamers have plenty options (ROG). So just for this one, we should accept the Steamdeck as a Linux gaming machine, for once.
