  • Yep also happened to my family. There is a y in my family name, but that’s very uncommon in the Netherlands, my last name is of French origin. So some bureaucrat changed it to a Dutch y which is an ij and there was no time to correct it since my grandparents had to catch the boat to flee the former Dutch colony. Now my last name is constantly pronounced wrong. I’m probably going to change it in the future but in the Netherlands you are not allowed to change your name except for a few exceptions. And applying for a name change cost a lot of money and you won’t get it back if they reject it. So I probably have to get a lawyer to do it.

I sit on a IKEA barstool without cushioning behind a jury rigged standing desk. Actually solved my back pain that I got from an office chair. Probably because I’m forced to sit more at the front of the chair since it’s hard to push the chair close to the desk once I’m sitting on it. I can’t lean back, so my back stays straight for longer than when I used an office chair.

I’m of the opinion that using a really good comfy chair everyday for 8 hours that relaxes your body is probably not good for you in the long run. It makes your body weak. It’s like sitting on a sofa all day.

I know people that sit on the floor all day on a sturdy cushion in a lotus position behind a coffee table they use as a desk. They never have pain in their back or anywhere else from sitting. If you can sit with your back straight and your hips are at 90+ degrees angle so your knees are below your hips you will reduce the chances of getting issues with your back significantly and it doesn’t really matter what kind of chair you use.

  • Because many of these people are just fucking dumb and don’t have much going in their lives. Seriously talk to an ultra fan and all they do is talk and think about their club. They have wrapped their entire lives and persona around the club. When their club loses they feel like that’s an direct attack on their own person, because the club is all they are. So because they feel attacked they have this urge to defend and lash out. Combine that with booze and cocaine and multiply that with hundreds of bozos and you have yourself a riot.

I live next to a sports bar. And many of the patrons definitely have lost a couple of screws.

Last week in my city people rioted because they couldn’t watch their precious football game. Because the cops were on strike and the mayor banned the match because of that. It’s like these people can’t find joy in anything else. Just football, booze and cocaine. Basically Bread and Circuses.
