Thats great and all but it requires a self-first attitude to feel no remorse over stealing or causing harm to others.
Many addictions start with someone thinking they are smarter than everyone else and have ultimate control over themselves. I wish you the best of luck but your argument in a public space has the potential to inspire someone to harm themselves.
Maybe you should give some thought to why you deserve to make your own rules and yet still participate in society.

I dont think using drugs regularly is comparable to pirating software. Pirating isnt going to affect your ability to reason or think. I also wouldnt use the legality of alcohol as an excuse to do other drugs, especially opioids.
It sounds like you are frustrated that people who also do bad things will judge you for doing other bad things, which makes them hypocrites. But it also means you agree with them to a degree that what you are doing is a bad thing, doesnt it?
I can hate bad corporate practices and also think that piracy is stealing. They aren’t mutually exclusive.
Why do people seem like they hate pirates more, to you? Likely a bias because you are a pirate, and not working for a corporation.
In my opinion I hear more critiques of big business than of piracy. I also dont find these threads full of people saying negative things about piracy, but thats a matter of perspective.

I think its interesting that people in the west only realized the danger capitalism posed when it started affecting their weather, while the rest of the world has been filling graveyards for decades because of it.
Its almost like everyone knew the whole time.
The point is that the machines are doing what humans would want to do, while humans do what they want the machines to do.
The promise of technology is to make our lives easier, so this is showing how the opposite is true instead.
Apparently most the people in this post are under 25 and are still dealing with their parents telling them to get off their phone on the daily.
I think its message is only hindered by those viewing it. Not that their perspective is invalid, but I do think its far more likely the intent here was to highlight how the relationship between humans and machines has seemingly flipped.

It depends, in some areas that part where you either accept by default or choose another option is part of court. In my area they clear out everyone who is taking the default judgment at the beginning and then go through the rest one at a time.
Oh you are in for a treat. I spent time in the local jail when I was much younger, and was surprised that some of my fellow inmates were in there for some absurd things. The two that stick out are:
Driving without a license - apparently if you do this more than once, good chance they will just take you jail and impound your car, and if you can’t afford bail you wait until court, which is weeks or months.
Unpaid child support - I actually have no idea the logic here. You have unpaid child support, so we will put you in jail, charge you 30$ per day to be paid upon release for “housing”, and guarantee you have no way to earn money.
The bail and housing fees are not actually specific to those crimes, it applies to all crimes but really compounds things in some situations.
Yeah the answer is almost never that there is no solution, and most simple problems have easy solutions.

The trees aren’t meant to solve homelessness or poverty. They also do more than just feed people. As a whole I think its worth it, and we can also tax the rich to pay for social welfare at the same time.

Well you did just state my first point in more words, so yes I agree, since artists aren’t getting paid in most cases anyways, stealing their work is sort of morally grey, but mostly because its not their work anymore.
But thats not true across the board, and its impossible to know which companies are the ones that do treat their employees well enough that it would affect them to steal it.
So why don’t we maybe repair that bond between an artist and their work so that it makes sense not to steal art from people again? Copyright could be changed to do this couldn’t it?
Its hard to justify stealing entertainment. Most arguments are centered around the fact the artist usually makes almost nothing so you aren’t even paying them for it.
Copyright makes sense to protect creativity to an extent, until we figure out some other way artists can make a living.
