i think I’m gonna have to, now to pray the person who gifted it to me remembers the login for the steam account they made to buy it.
My laptop isn’t charging anymore so installing a different OS isn’t possible, fuck me right? when it rains it pours. I’ll contact support in the morning.
I’d love to try that but I’m also dealing with a separate issue where my laptop is refusing to charge so it’s dead and unusable. the deck is my only computer with power right now.
i have a second one and I tried setting that up and unfortunately the problem happens with both of them.
I also tried a wired connection after that and it does the same thing just “connecting to Wired connection 1” and then “failed to connect”
thanks for the ideas though
I’ve been using controllers on PC since the Sidewinder days, I’m glad to see support for most controllers be basically perfect on Linux and pretty decent on Windows. MacOS still has a way to go with anything that isn’t made by Sony, but it’s not exactly a gaming platform.
My Xbox Series Controller, my Dualshock 4, my Dualsense, my Steam Controller, my Switch Pro Controller, My 8bitdo Ultimate Xbox controller, basically whatever is within reach, they’re all fine but I like the 8bitdo best.
Just use whatever you already have. If you don’t have anything I’d say go for the 8bitdo or the Xbox Series controller. They’re both excellent. The Switch pro has the buttons backwards, the PlayStation controllers don’t have the best build quality (I’ve gone through multiple of each even though I treat controllers kindly), and the Steam Controller is a little weird and not sold new anymore. So Xbox Series if you want to save money, 8bitdo Ultimate if you just want the best.
