So who’s left of the legit ones that offers it?

“Ever” may be a bit pessimistic, Cinny is going the right way, not totally there yet, but it is their objective
Can you have channels grouped under a server/space with it?
We’ll scan your butt cheeks to tailor the toilet seat to your exact shape
Wiggle and glass shattering galore? Yes please!
Well that’s fucking bleak, at least I got a good chuckle out of this > NPM’s novel implant for drug delivery.
So that’s how they keep JavaScript devs hooked!
Accelerationism in a nutshell
Even better, with your MINT
What are you waiting for? We’re already living in it! :)
Yes, exactly My bad, you meant the Lemmy post, didn’t notice that, now I get what is happening
This is old news though? Never mind
Finally someone that is being objective here!
If I had to suggest a browser to a non techie person I’d definitely tell them to use Brave since it’s the best middle ground between full privacy to the point of clunkiness and, well… Chrome.
It is still a little invasive by shoving features/ads in your face (wallet, videoconferencing web app, sponsored backgrounds, etc.), but they’re less armful than other options and easier to turn off than slightly obscure about:config
settings that break the experience of a non privacy concious user
I’ve never thought about this, but now that you bring it to my attention I think I’d go with a combination of mineral-flower, so for example “tourmaline-calendula”.
Also to automate that, I saw that there is this neat website perchance.org that you can use to construct random word generators, I’m wondering if there’s an open source alternative though, that would be great
Flairs? Not yet, but you can natively mark what language you’re using in the post
The changes couldn’t be upstreamed due to the relevant code coming from an unlicensed repository right?
Yes I agree, it’s very shitty on Reddit’s behalf and I feel sorry for every developer that saw their work being made more or less useless, I understand all the effort and countless hours that go into that.
I’m slightly pulling everyone’s leg here, I don’t want to be toxic and say “oh you didn’t open source your stuff? Then you’re WORTHLESS!!!”, the devs have all the right in choosing how to handle their own things, on the other hand maybe it can be some food for thought for the users, for example we see how Infinity will still stand for now (maybe ever?) because it is open source and now everyone can make their modifications to effectively have an own “Infinity”, the name turned out to be quite prophetic lol.
Either way things go, I really do hope that apps, proprietary or otherwise keep a paid for version as the published one or just as an option, that would be the least they can do to get some recognition back after having been torn down
Exactly, one can self host if they want, but if their aim is to limit user profiling, they should absolutely make their instance public so they can get mixed traffic through it
Conversely they could more easily be convinced to make the switch, since they could still communicate with their contacts without forcing them (and in turn the entire social graph) to change app too.
If it’s implemented well I think it will be mostly beneficial and it could actually end up slowly transitioning a lot of people to privacy respecting apps whereas before it seemed so impossible, due to this chicken and egg problem
