I have GrapheneOS and I know having root is not ideal and I was wondering about https://shizuku.rikka.app/ It looks like a more elegant way to have for some apps higher privileges while preserving security but I’m not sure about it so I’m thinking out loud
That’s exactly what I meant! Not only “fitting in-game”. Nice list.
Great ones!
I wonder how would that look like. 🤔
Exactly and that is why when I have a pleasure to do something extra than their system allows to do they are handicapped and I need to do this for them on my Android or Linux.
Also doesn’t even slow stock Android on 200$ “just works”?
But I do also like when I don’t need to configure stuff as it is productivity draining. Good defaults are always welcomed.
That was a lot of effort. I don’t think you suited as an iOS guy. Most of them don’t know what file and its extension is. Also maybe you will find something helpful in my list. Awesome Android Apps
The only con is convenience.
Launchers be like
No problem
Sure, I have tested Grayjay already when NewPipe was broken by Google.
See my Awesome Android Apps list.
Hmm isn’t that inefficient?
I just downloaded Dishonored 1 again to experience it once again. Let’s goo
I have the exact same issue on PopOS but with Librewolf but not with Brave, so it’s related to the engine. Moreover, this bug is funny because I don’t know why, but it’s related to me being in the exact place. I don’t have the same issue when I’m at my family home, but when I’m somewhere other, the issue occurs. It loads about 10 - 15 second. I still haven’t figured it out, though. Pacstall also lags when I’m updating.
dpkg -l | grep librewolf
ii librewolf 128.0-1 all The Librewolf Browser
So it’s a layer that says “bro I got this, don’t mind that I run this game in the background and let take care of resolution with Hz”?
What are the sideffects of gamescope? Can I specify which monitor the game is running?
In what way?
So you’re suggesting more “network” control. I like it.
I use NetGuard, but I don’t see any benefits from having root in it.
Hmm, interesting, I think the closest thing that I use now is TrackerControl.
I’m using my VPN “socket” with TrackerControl.
define your own custom firewall rules is very powerful
Yeah, and also easy to mess up connections so they no longer work properly. 😆
I redirect all DNS requests to my own DNS with a custom rule (for apps, like Termux, using hardcoded DNS lookups instead of what the phone is set to)
That seems cool. For now, I’m using Mullvad’s public DNS service. See their dns-blocklists.
I also know App Manager, and I’m using it and with root it with ease blocks any necessary trackers and other things. Have you tried it?
From the security standpoint, I think rooting is always against the security. That’s why DivestOS and GrapheneOS are against it, and it shouldn’t be tried. However, I was interested in Shizuku that also is some another hole to patch up when exploited.
Is rebooting disables Shizuku?
How do you do these short bursts? Through adb?
And still Shizuku seems like a better idea than rooting the smartphone.
