Yup my personal and work machines were fine. That said I’m on W10 on both and once I can’t be on W10 anymore I’m hoping Linux has further matured for my needs so I don’t need W11 onwards. I’m around the Linux communities keeping tabs…!

As a non-user I’m now intrigued by it!

I’ve been a low ranked, terrible Counter-Strike player since 2000. Probably will be until my fingers /eyes / ears stop working. That’s not success. But it is fun. Some stuff you can do “forever” and it be fun. Conversely the point in your post is important.

Anyone who has to use Windows and suffers this, PowerToys is your friend. Locksmith identifies what’s locking your file and allows you to free it up. Dunno why PowerToys isn’t bundled by default tbh.

Oh, I’ve been using AdiIRC for ages now, just for chat though. Some quirks, but overall I chose this after using HexChat, can’t remember why now.

Yeah it’s one I’m struggling to replace, but because I use it so little I’m not as fussed just yet. Will keep it until it doesn’t pass MOT anymore, or something else makes more sense.

I’m pretty tall. I move a lot of family members around on rare occasions. I go for week-long trips out of town in my car. I barely drive it in town (usually evenings and weekends and not even every evening or weekend). My car isn’t quite that behemoth but it is large enough for what I need. I have helped with over 4 home moves in that car and even used it to transport a fridge to a civic waste site.

It does the job fine. I’ve never felt the need to get a pickup truck. Some people probably have genuine use cases. The majority probably don’t. Those things are wild.
