To be fair, 20 years ago your computer would have choked doing 1/10th the stuff either one of those apps do today. Hell, I still remember writing a prank program that would lock up my school computers because I made it beep too fast.

Experian does it with every. single. login. Really fucking annoying when you have to login multiple times for thawing and whatnot when necessary.
Omfg, one of my banks did this to me and was infuriating. I was able to call in to fix it and made a bug report, but goddamn, what idiot silently truncates the sign up password but not also the login form?!?
Ah, that would be why. Good to know I guess, thanks for the info stranger!
Interesting, I haven’t had any issues across multiple phones/PCs/browsers for anyone in my family plan, but that’s internet services for you.
AuthLeft taking authoritarian practices from other ideologies? Color me shocked.
YouTube premium is worth it because of YouTube Music. I’ve never been impressed with the music recommendation algos of other streaming companies, but YTM has pretty good recommendations (possibly because they kept some decent things from Google Music). I’m kinda surprised the regular YT music recommendations are so bad compared to that of YTM.
Becoming a parent has been one long strong of these moments. By doing the right things for my child, I get reminded of just how bad my childhood was, and it’s hard. But I’m determined to give them a better life than I had, to break the cycle.
I’d be interested to see if you swapped the cables back if your local interface negotiated to FE instead of GE. I wouldn’t be surprised to find that you’ve got a pair that’s not properly terminated or broken and dropping you down to 100Mbps.
You assume that those in power want the problem to be fixed. The republicans actively fight making voting a holiday (going as far as saying that dems pushing for it are trying to manipulate elections) and have criminalized giving people stuck in lines for hours (again, as intended) food or water. And since our system was designed by and for wealthly land/slave holders, its not designed to work for the will of the people.
LOL, as a noob I went with caddy, then traefik before settling on NPM. Ironically, all the “QoL” features people brag about just made base configs harder and lead to shit randomly failing.
NPM has been solid as a rock, even if I have to do slightly more work, it’s more reliable and does what I want quicker and easier than the alternative.
Might be your company, I’ve had 3 not at fault and 1 at fault accident and I’ve never had any issues with the insurance company paying out. In fact, my insurance has always been super chill about it, and the two not at faults that involved another driver both had the opposing insurance company tried to screw around to get out of paying.
Yep, that’s what happened to mine. The jacket frayed until the wire got out and strangled itself. My 502 is still rocking strong after 5+ years, but here’s hoping your g5 sticks around for a while, that was a great mouse.
If you wanted to unclog a hair clogged drain, you’d be better off using (harsh chemicals) draino o some kind of biological/bacterial cleaner. I had a clogged drain early in the year (not organic, toddler related), and the plumber sold me some kinda bio-clean stuff in lieu of charging me the full fee and getting nothing, and it works wonders to destroy hair and other biologic stuff when I leave it in drains overnight. I use it once a month or so and it fixes my slow drains in one shot.
I had a G5 for close to a decade and I miss that heavy little bugger. I’ve got a G502 right now and its rather good, but the max weight isn’t as heavy as my old one.
If you build an idiot proof contraption, the universe will just create a better idiot.
Yeah, formatting is the only place that I really enjoy using AI. It’s great at pumping out blocks of stuff and frequently gets the general idea of what I’m going for with successive variables or tasks. But when you ask it to do complex things it wigs out. Like yesterday when it spit out a regex to look for something within multiple encapsulation chars just fine, but telling it to remove one of the chars it was looking for was impossible, apparently. Spent 5 min doing something I figured out in 2 minutes on a regex test site.
My favorite is when it just keeps giving you the exact same answer you keep telling it is wrong
It’s annoying AF, but I’ve started waiting until my lawn is approaching 8" (where the city starts getting pissy) to let everything try to go through as much of the lifecycle as it can before I have to chop it all down.
I had a manager who offered a promotion to our department and went through the whole process of interviewing and whatnot before giving it to someone outside of the department who had no idea what he was doing and had to be trained by us on how to be a manager. It was really cool to find out after I bailed that he had the job before we even knew about the possible promotion. Glad I bailed on that asshole, that was the same manager who was buddy buddy with the office diddler and tried to run interference for him around the office when he got a new set of bracelets.
