  • Please and thank you don’t violate barriers. It does not allow someone into your space, you don’t have to give anything of yourself to say them, and if you’re a good person you probably mean them. A better example for what you’re looking for would be handshakes. It’s common in most western cultures at several social functions, and it can be considered rather rude to refuse one, it got a lot of folks angry during covid apparently. That’s where two parties acknowledge the social bindings that call for a physical touch establishing a mutual respect. I never miss saying a please and thank you, but best believe I’m still doing the ‘covid shrug’ when I turn down handshakes.

So, you’d tell your child that “yes, you have autonomy in this, but your feelings regarding your need for personal space matter less than your grandmother’s want for a hug” is what I’m gathering? Do you educate your mother on the child’s wants/needs? There’s a reason why people are educated that, as far as physical touch is concerned, nobody else’s feelings should be taken into account. If someone can’t love a child without hugs, then I don’t think they really understand the concept or application of love.

I’m not saying this is your case, the next bit is an extreme but important to the overall argument, I think. People have identified that exact thinking pattern in why they didn’t report sexual assault from a family member. Because they weren’t taught how to properly say no and why the right to refuse touch is important, it was that much easier to abuse them.

  • Continued spending, a drop of the ‘mask’ of civility. Zero calls for even the most minute investigation open endorsement of using larger munitions, detaining of Palestinian-Americans akin to the Japanese American camps, legislation/trade action against nations voicing support for Palestine to silence even MORE foreign dissent.

If you can’t imagine how it gets worse from here, pick up a history book, because we’ve DEFINITELY gone all-in on fascism before, and I’m firm in my belief that voting in ANY way that let’s the republican party as it currently stands back into power would result in a backslide to what I’ve described above. I don’t WANT to vote Democrat, in my eyes, I HAVE to because there’s no other party that will make things better, or at least not monumentally worse, right now. Abolish the two party system, introduce rank choice voting, advocate for more humanitarian policies and parties, all for it. But I can’t do all of that this November, I can just vote Blue, Red, or a third color no one’s really seen show up on the national stage, and Blue seems to be the only color that won’t ALSO curb stomp my gay and trans and pregnant-seeking-abortion friends and neighbors.

  • I don’t know what communities you’re in with a Liberal lean that aren’t lambasting the Democrat party’s stance on Israel.

I agree with you, anyone taking a pro Israel stance right now is pretty reprehensible. But I hope you’re not conflating “vote Democrat so we don’t get Trump” as pro Israel sentiment. Most of the people saying that, from what I’m seeing, have been pro-Palestine or are under the belief that a more authoritarian leaning party (like the one we had from 2016-2020) would result in worse conditions for the Palestinian people.

  • Could not possibly disagree more on whether it’s boring. I’m not sure where you got the idea that it’s the same stuff over and over, did you mean the stuff in the prologue mission, because once it ‘opens up’ post prologue you can do whatever you want.

There are some rocks you can’t jump to, but they’re pretty few and far between and mostly situated in major story areas or arenas that they don’t want you cheesing a fight in. Other than that, I was all over the mountainsides, sliding up and down hills and slow mo jumping off cliffs. I highly recommend giving it another shot with the mindframe that it’s a different kind or action RPG than you’re used to, I promise that the story is compelling and the bigger monster takedowns can feel so satisfying.
