Precisely! That’s what I don’t get about drivers complaining about cyclists!? More cyclists means less bumper to bumper traffic crawling painfully through clogged up city grids! You should be embracing separated cycleways even more so, then you don’t even have to see us! You just get to enjoy less traffic, quicker travel, reduced stress/road rage incidents etc!

Things I’ve seen people doing while driving: taking phone calls without using hands free, adjusting their stereo or AC or any number of other buttons that are off to the side and usually require looking down, reaching across to get something out of the glove box, texting, putting on makeup, reading a book!?

When I got hit by a car while riding my bike I was wearing high vis, it was daytime, I was in a cylcle lane, they were on a giveway/yield and yet some people I told about it after the fact STILL implied it was probably my fault because I didn’t see them or wasn’t looking for random maniacs running giveways?! I WAS looking and DID see them but you only have so much time to react and the choice between slowing down versus speeding up to avoid impact is not so clear when you only have seconds at best and your brain is going FUCKSHITFUCKWHATDOIDO?!

It would be irrelivant. Trump will change anything and everything to suit his needs. You can change whatever you want and he’ll just change it back on day one. You know, that one day he made very clear that he was going to be a dictator. That’s the one day set aside to change every single thing he needs to. After that, nothing else matters.

Yeah, I hate it when things are more convenient, quicker to accomplish, take up less of the day and allow me to do more in less time! If I can’t spend more than two hours a day stuck in traffic am I even living!?

It’s so shocking?! I’m looking at a Ranger out in the car park right now and trying to imagine something bigger parked out there?! It wouldn’t fit within the bounds of the parking space?! Already if there were two Rangers parked next to each other there wouldn’t be enough room to walk between them, even if you turned side on :-/ Let alone having room to be able to open the door and get in & out?!

In fact I can see that it’s had a flow on effect whereby every other parked car has had to park on the extreme edge of their space to allow room to open the door and get out. If there was one more Ranger anywhere along the line someone would be likely blocked from getting in or out of their car!

Yikes?! A Ford RANGER is considered a small truck to you?? They’re part of the growing plague of stupidly large trucks in my part of the world!? :-/ I mean I knew the US had big trucks but I never thought the Ranger would be considered the small alternative?! We’re so screwed?! :-(

This feels like it should be cross-posted to !minecraft@lemmy.world but I don’t know how to do that? 🤔 Hopefully a few people start looking around for an alternative place to hang out. Even if 0.5% of that sub moved over to Lemmy you’d have a really stong community here!

I get both sides. Just the act of having to create a new login/password is too much for many who’ve gotten used to signing in with their Facebook or Google accounts and they want things to be as friction free as possible and I think that’s fair enough. Personally I really enjoyed the process of learning about the Fediverse, figuring out how Lemmy works and understanding its strengths and limitations. But that’s not most people. I know one redditor I tried to describe it to said they gave up after the first sentence. If I really simplified it they will understand but in doing so you might misslead them about the world of instances, how they can all differ slightly, how they may or may not fully interact with each other. Me, I’m like holy crap! I’m on this tiny little instance in a corner of the world and I can not only read but like, comment and subscribe to all these other much bigger communities!? Let alone interact with kbin.social which isn’t even Lemmy at all!? It just works! But I’m also very tollerant of times when things may not work as expected, but I don’t care, because at least it’s not reddit ;-)
