You would be incorrect. Many wealthier high schools put a ton of money into their sports facilities and equipment. Several HS in my state operate 10-thousand-plus-seating stadiums that look a lot like collegiate or semiprofessional facilities.

You forgot the part where he bundled his whole family into a 4hr roadtrip to chainsaw the head off a dead beached whale. Then rode back with the whale head strapped to the roof with the windows down.
Not actually true, Obama’s CAFE standards tied fuel efficiency to chassis size. It’s stupid as hell, but it’s why everything is an SUV now - easier to build a billion of those than actually innovate on engine tech.
Ahh, but you’re missing the bigger part of the equation: one of Trump’s first EOs this time was the requirement, by April 20, for the Pentagon to put together a recommendation on whether or not to utilize the Insurrection Act to declare martial law. I, and most others, are thinking this is purely a formality with the departmental purges - and once he’s done that, it hardly matters whether you like them invading Canada or not.
Now, THAT BEING SAID, the military already has a manpower issue, has for a decent while. I do not think we could effectively lock down a country the size of the US, or even the major metros on both coasts, AND fight a war of invasion. Even unofficially deputizing all the various militia types, AND bringing local/state PDs and Nat Guard under federal control, I don’t think they have enough.
Mostly because all of that is a highly-confusing tangle. Food stamps are hilariously limited in most states, same with Medicaid. Section 8/HUD will almost always make sure you wind up living in the most run-down tenement your town has, run by the shittiest landlord, who will almost always be looking for a reason to evict you - and that even assumes you don’t have to wait literal years. The current wait time for Section 8 housing in my city is something like a year and a half.
No, there are no smokescreens. Trump is literally this stupid. Don’t attribute to maliciousness what can be attributed to narcissism.
Anthem and Andromeda were actually pretty good as bases to work off of. I truly believe Anthem could’ve succeeded in the stated mission of “Destiny Killer” if they had put work into making it good, building it into a good instanced MMO. Same with Andromeda - actually pretty good game that just had a rough start, and could’ve been great if the studio had put time and effort into DLC.
But the metric is never “how many people are actually saying this is a good game and they enjoy it”, it’s “did this literally smash every other game out there on release.”
I forgot how accidents only happen here in the US. Couldn’t possibly have collisions with anyone in the EU or UK. Couldn’t have anything bad happen on a bicycle anywhere else. Nope, just the US.
Wear your damn helmet. You’ll thank me when your skull doesn’t get fractured because you ran over a small rock or hit a wet patch and lost control.
They don’t call them “accidents” because you can avoid 100% of them.
You really should. You’ve only got the one brain, and that brain is actually pretty delicate for how squishy it is, given it’s contained inside a very stiff skull. A helmet at least puts some extra shock absorption between your brain and whatever’s going to hit your head.
Don’t forget the part where they go fight TV in space.
Especially just murdering you. Lot harder to get a corpse to testify that they didn’t do it. Makes it a LOT easier to say “well, they did it, but they’re dead now, case closed.”
Yeah, every hour they don’t have this dude in custody makes them look incompetent, especially for the billionaire class who have so far provided a LOT of cover for the police. This makes the NYPD look especially bad, given their nationwide rep as “the best PD in the country” among us plebs and the fact that their numbers eclipse several small national militaries.
Actually, the trains aren’t moving faster. I don’t think there’s a single significant span of passenger rail rated for more than 60mph in the US.
Don’t forget that the Ohio Supreme Court let the GOP just… Keep submitting shit district maps after being ordered to draw fair maps multiple times. We still haven’t drawn a new district map, that’s what Issue 1 is about.
Yup, down ballot races matter just as much, if not arguably more. This says nothing of ballot issues or tax levies as well.
We still do it, it’s just that the voices are louder now when we try. My city was wanting to run a new bridge to replace an old, failing bridge, and SURPRISE, most of the neighborhoods that would’ve been impacted were historically nonwhite. Thanks to the Internet, it got a lot wider dispersal, and a lot more people were able to rally against it.
Remember Biden deregulating the rails, allowing these corporate vultures to pick apart worker and bystander safety for quarter-of-a-percent profit margins?
Wait, that was Reagan.
Oh they fucking tried a LOT. The public at large, and a lot of the lobbying groups, kept up the pressure really well to get this through.
They actually already do. Many grocery stores, when tossing food, require it to be made inedible - bleach or turpentine or something else horrifyingly bad to ingest and strong-smelling gets dumped on it.
