I don’t see the point in getting so worked up over someones project they made and decided to share, it’s not like you’re being forced to use it.

Probably just swapping over to the cell network to continue the call.

While VoLTE is using data, it’s not part of the normal data service your phone uses for the internet, so turning off data likely doesn’t affect it.

That used to be the case with 3G and “3.5G”, but with 4G and 5G calls are done over data (VoLTE).

Essentially you need a load balancer hosted somewhere that the traffic hits before getting routed to one of the 2 servers. That could be a VPS running Traefik if you prefer that.

Alternatively you could both run something like IPFS and run the static site on that, but anyone accessing the site would either need IPFS installed, or use a gateway hosted somewhere (Cloudflare has a public for example).

It’s kind of depressing how fragmented the Matrix ecosystem is, a bunch of clients but none seem to support everything together, servers that are slow and bloated, and don’t support super basic maintenance tasks like cleaning up old stuff, etc…

Yeah some people would do that.

An AFK kick seems simple enough to stop most of those situations.

How you change it depends on the specific server you’re using, I use SFTPGo for a webdav server and when I create a new user it just asks where the data should go.

It would be good for them to make sure it’s clear that it’s a fork of Firefox and supports addons in their marketing! Right now it’s quite a ways down the home page.

Software RAID is generally better in every way, also no hardware to fail.

Keep multiple reliable (and tested) backups, if something fails restore a backup.

Don’t rely on any storage, RAID or anything else to be recoverable when something goes wrong.

Backrest is also great, just a nice webUI for Restic.

If you really want better sleep quality probably a better way is stop using stuff with screens like an hour or so before bed. It’s not really the blue light that is the issue, it’s the endless content keeping our mind active.

I would go with a managed Nextcloud provider, it’s such a pain to manage self hosting Nextcloud specifically.

Be extra vigilant with your backups though, free stuff always has a higher chance of weird stuff happening, once they just removed my VPS after my trial ended and told me to re-create it.

They could be away and not checking on things until they get back.

Or potentially their github account was taken over somehow.

Cheating, every lobby has several of them and you’ll play for a few minutes only to be teleported somewhere and killed, or run into a guy with god mode turned on.

To be fair running a company you would likely want to focus on the people that give you money, not the group that complains and doesn’t.

Dynamic DNS is free generally, for example if you put your domain on Cloudflare or another DNS host with an API that is supported you can just update the A records automatically on IP change.
