Yeah … it wasn’t your site, it was my criteria and the ads changing just enough to be confused for results.
She’s an indisputable beaut, now that I get how it works.

Doesn’t work for me on Firefox mobile. Neither “mobile” site or Desktop versions. Hitting “Next/Enter” on my keyboard does nothing, there is no Submit button that I can see, and refreshing the page just resets all fields to defaults.
I don’t want an Intel with 4gb RAM and a 256GB spinning drive, and OS included? No dice, that’s what I’m offered. Without being able to filter results, its just another craigslist/amazon/newegg front-end … a less useful one.
EDIT: Turns out there are zero fanless non-Intel, 16+GB RAM, 1024+GB SSD/eMMC offerings with USB-C to list. Strange no-one is packaging an OrangePi 5 Plus like so, but I haven’t seen a fanless heat-sink sufficient to make that a good idea anyways.
I had tweaked some of the options, but without clearing either-or-both of those last two, especially “fan-less”, all I was getting was the five sponsored “results” the top, which changed just enough to make it seem like that’s all the results I could get.
Not meant to be profitable to viewers…
Seems OP would settle for “as ethically as possible from among the available options”, and is looking for pointers towards that direction.
Honestly, displays are everywhere if you carry the right adapters or your device has the ports. Mice and Keyboards are a whole other beast for portability and convenience. Think I would rather skip from a laptop to a tablet, versus a mini-pc.
Came here to dunk on the idea of any positive correlation between kindness and trustworthiness, found a bunch of “holistic” non-sense mixed with good intentions. That said …
I prefer blunt people and trustworthy results. End-of-the-day, I don’t care about intentions and goodwild outside of direct, inter-personal interactions. Considering intentions first over results as a cultural value is a concept I don’t often even encounter, but good on you.
I can live with quite a few otherwise substandard things in my life where I know they came from a place of love, but that brakes down versus strangers rather quickly, and corporations? I would sooner slash their tires for shits-n-giggles, or send my first-born off to be raised by sketchy fae creatures, than ever trust their intentions. In my country, they(corporations) are, by law and definition, the worst sorts of “people”. They ARE the real inhuman other our grandparents warned us about, made manifest.
All that said, good on you for being so eager to trust and abide. I hope it works out for you.
“Only while in use” counts when an app is allowed to run in the background as “in use”. Allow push notifications? That app is running in the background.
One would hope, but no, so long as the Super-Intendent gets his kick-backs, this is the shit that takes priority over all-else.
THAT is a fucking masterpiece.
Not enough for what you’re suggesting, thankfully.
No, dude literally said at the end that he had no idea what else would be the cause. That’s a pretty damn strong opinion in the face of everything that’s happened in recent decades.
Did you? Sure, it quotes a study, but its otherwise a bunch of quotes from one of the study authors, an author who has a definite idea of what to blame:
Smart phones, and nothing else. Let’s hope he’s better at conducting studies than he is at staying abreast of current events, but yeah, this non-sense is close to cream-of-the-crop for the Scientific Americanlivescience.com “articles” that are always cluttering my Lemmy feed. Okay, so I confused one site for another, but we should demand better of more respectable sites, as well as round-filing the utter garbage.
Yet another opinion piece to remind me that blocking posts by domain can’t come soon enough.
Ouch. So he didn’t actually complete the assignment in a minute…
Sounds like you should have taken his phone away when everyone else had finished, or before that, since he was distracting others. Also sounds like the assignment wasn’t challenging enough for him.
I mean, I agree its already broken, but proponents of this “it’s x thousand pixels wide!” non-sense will point out that at least it rounds up to that number, so I opted to point of the vaule at whict that excuse, too, breaks down. 4k has 4 times(2x2) the pixels as 1080P, and 8k has, well shit, 16 times(4x4) the pixels as 1080P. Someone shit the bed with this non-sense.
Apparently the “official” standard defines nothing beyond 8k. Go figure.
Okay, but, 4k has literally 4 times the number of pixels that 1080P does, 3840 horizontal(“4k”?) versus 1920(“2k”?), and 2160 versus 1080 vertical. We are not so far from breaking the “1000pixels” interpretation completely; “13k” would be 12,480 pixels wide.
Seems to me that marketers are trying to conflate “k” and Megapixels, but if we started using Megapixels for Displays, the side-by-side numbers would look truely pathetic(versus what “seems common/attainable”, not what’s “percievable”.
Full HD/1080P is 1K. If you meant better than 1080P though, then more power to you.
Reasons why MinX versions are usually available. Whether for bandwidth purposes, just not giving a fuck about HD, or not wanting to buy larger Hard Drives to save overlarge content, there’s plenty of people with plenty of reasons to prefer smaller files.
Best you can do is remove all funds from those accounts and have them lock them so they can’t recieve deposits or issue withdrawals. THAT, they can absolutely do.
Any data deletion will probably happen automatically or not at all, but there’s no incentive for them to retain any detailed transaction information beyond federal requirements, and yes, its seven or more years, depending on criterai like amounts and location.
