Thanks for this. I enjoyed the discussion. I still managed Solaris up until a couple years ago. I could still login if I cared to, but others manage the mothballed environment now. I was super mad how Oracle killed them. Still mad as I think on it.
We’ve all been forced into this situation and the genie will never be back in the bottle. Freeze your credit. That’s the best thing you can do at the moment. Then hopefully others aren’t able to take advantage of your data.
For insurance to cover it the data tells them whether you are using it or not. If you don’t meet the minimum usage they won’t pay for the machine. Buying it yourself negates that, but they can get spendy.

“Supply chain issues” is what keeps getting bandied about. True or not it’s just another wonderfully convenient corporate excuse for constant price-jacking.

The private trackers I use have stipulations stating if one of your invited folks breaks the rules you get punished as well. Makes it a very selective process choosing whom to share with.
