I went back to my old forum haunt after a 10 year absence recently, very surprised to see it’s still kicking, though a bit less active. Nice to talk to some old friends lol

Along with everything else, I find it so annoying that these games that totally didn’t need a remaster get one, and so many great older games just begging for a remaster that woud rake in cash dont get one.

Last time, I apologized and said I should have realized (I should have), and my friend and I got into a two-day argument about whether it was a sincere apology or not. I finally asked what I did to deserve being accused of lying and he just said “well if I had said that I’d mean it manipulatively, so I assumed you did”. So apologizing in that scenario is taken as manipulative, right?

I mean… I think you did the right thing here. Hard to say without any context, but your friends kinda sound like dicks, like really taking offense at small things that really don’t matter that much.

Sorry, not sure what you should do with this take, just that maybe the problem is not entirely you.

Though development is long dead, the servers were taken offline recently and it was delisted by Epic, people are still playing the Unreal Tournament pre-alpha (commonly called UT4) which you can get here: https://www.ut4ever.org/downloads

The download should come with the unofficial update which gives access to the private servers, I play on the Unreal Carnage servers regularly which often gets 8-15 players at a time, more than enough for some deathmatch. Would love to see some more people around!

(Mind I’m in New Zealand, which is why my ping is so high, the netcode handles it well somehow)

Early access doesn’t necessarily mean bad. 2 of my favourite games this year have been Core Keeper and Timberborn. Both early access, got more than 100 hours in both and I’m definitely not halfway through either. They’re great as they are and updates are coming to improve them. I do agree though you have to be very wary of what game you choose to support, I have been burned before by a developer that took the money and ran. Fuck you Code{}atch, I’ll never forgive you.
