  • And we have tried to clean the slate many times throughout history, but we always get back to where we are. And it will probably work, but i dont think we can until we weaken this digitally reinforced system this time. I think it needs to be broken more before we can get rid of it and the mechanism to breaking it is very simple, we the people need to use the system as much as the corpos do.

So if we keep money circulating and OUT of investment, we gain power again over finances. Maybe not enough to reverse the problems, but enough that we CAN get to a clean slate.

I think it will take a world war that changes the maps forever to happen any other way, which i think would be worse for too many people who wont survive. If this was in ukraine hasnt already shown us

  • I think we really just need to remove the burden of having to work yourself to death just to pay for the existence you didnt ask for.

Which is why UBI or other similar strategies are becoming popular again. Ive thought a lot about this recently and we have too large or a system that depends entirely too much on transactions of money because it is a much easier way to trade goods and services as opposed to some kind of bartering system.

But money and power corrupt everything over a long enough period of time. Massive turmoil can short circuit that as in times of crisis where values can shift greatly.

I think the systems we rely on can’t really be dismantled at this point. We need to create an equilibrium before we can start that dismantling of useless, broken, restrictive, unethical, ways in which we transact with other people.

UBI should be used as the mechanism to achieve that equilibrium so that everyone can use the system. If we arent able to financially exploit people anymore than the people will be able to live for the themselves.

Not everyone will want to use that opportunity for self improvement, and we need to work to build a system that lets people not have to be a part of it while it still provides for them to live their unasked for existence in much more meaningful manner.

  • Conservatism is a vile plague of inhumanity, oppression and death and should be treated as such. It is due for a cure.

And yet they seem to be the majority, or close to it. So one has to ask, why is that so many people turn to it. It has to give them value. And is that value real or perceived.

For some it is very real, usually the exceptionally wealthy. Which means conservatism is profitable.

Not having empathy for anyone outside of your in group would make it easy to dismiss or justify the fact that the first rule of capitalism is find a weakness and exploit it

  • There are enough stories of intelligent zombies that its easy to say he can be considered a zombie inspite of his intelligence. I think a better argument is that zombies are only one form of animated dead.

Zombies are dead things like liches, ghouls, vampires, wights, revenants etc. just as there are many stories of these creatures there are probably as many, or at least enough of coming back to life and not being some form of animated corpse.

Resurrection, reincarnation, regeneration, wishing and of course miracles

The story of jesus is clearly a divine/holy intervention though which suggests NOT an animated corpse but a true return to life.

So I also say no, but for different reasons.

Will that stop me from calling easter zombie jesus day? It will not :p

Really easy to imagine that world to most people. Like me. Who inspite of using computers since my 386sx family pc, never got into software engineering.

I understand a little about it, but its just a name of a thing i dont know how to use lol

I just find it funny how its a kind of ignorance(for entirely understandable reasons)is bliss situation to me, but a horror to those who use it

  • He was an NSA analyst that told us about things like 5 Eyes. He commited treason by revealing classified information because he took a stance against what he concluded was overreach and problematic behavior and decided to become a whistleblower about it

He did this knowing the punishment was death, so he found refuge which unfortunately is russia.

At this point its not hard to imagine Putin would want to convert snowden but no one who is claiming Snowden is a shill/russian asset is doing so based on any evidence, its all anecdotal and opinion because Putin would absolutely use him if he could convince him

  • Never said it was people who drive high kms a day that has these concerns.

Seems to me we arent disagreeing on reasoning but about different situations. Such is the way of not speaking face to face though.

If it helps im not just making shit up, i deliver (ive moved up and am low level.operations now) autoparts to repair shops and have heard these complaints for over 10 years.

Its actually quite fascinating how often people drop the concern im trying to discuss once they start using an ev, or personally know someone who has one and they get encouraged by their persons lack of concern about losing a charge.

I think i wouldnt pay extra for the solar panel version if it was a significant extra cost but Maybr if it wasnt too much. (15k for full.self driving which doesnt even transfer to a new owner put the brakes on the failing enthudsiasm i had with tesla when model s was new)

  • This is the exact type of gimmick/bullshit they can utilize to convince people to get over irrational fears. Because people are often irrational when making decisions.

But its also tied directly into the fear of running out of juice in the middle of no where. It not only offers but actually gives people comfort and security. Even its really not meant to actually be used regularily or ever really.

I know one mechanic who has both a Model S and Leaf. He HATES that his model S slowly drains the battery when not used and his leaf does not. And he can explain the difference both why and how. If a company just used that fact to sell their car over any car that also loses charge sitting unused they will absolutely have an advantage for people. Imagine parking your car for weeks and it always being as charged as you left it or more instead of sometimes having to worry if you have a dead car waiting for you because you realized after the fact that you left it with a low charge

I absolutely do think it will change enough minds. I work in the industry from the repair side. But also with people who use their vehicle to pay their wage. I know this can work towards removing that part of the equation because there is a TON of people who dont want EVs to replace ICE and they stoke every dumb fear people have. Having the option, however poorly it performs has always been a net postive as long as it does perform the way its supposed to

Good sales people try to understand what is preventing people from making good choices. Bad ones just lie to you.

Additional costs are exactly what people expect to pay extra for ask in think that’s really a moot point beyond getting the amount in the right ballpark.
