I was hoping for a bike so cheap I could lock it up with a luggage lock and that cable they secure projectors with. You know the stuff that is super thin but like you still need like a two handed bolt cutter thing to cut it.

I use the less secure cable on the rear wheel which is more of a pain to remove and the cable I use is that coil spring type so if they cut it they will likely still have to fuss to remove it. Nothing is 100% but you can make it as annoying as possible. I always said spend more on your lock than your bike (at least the one you lock up away from home).

I have the largest u-lock and a cable on my bike. The cable gets secured with the u-lock so its only on thing to unlock but threading the cable takes time.

So they could mass download all keys and encrypt it and put it on some other storage. I mean things like that should be done but as a tech person who has worked with this kind of thing I never am really satisfied with any backup and disaster recovery I have come across. Scratch that. Cars.com did a pretty good job overall and I imagine some other large corps do but its amazing how many don’t.

So this cartoon can be tricky as its a sorta slice of life diary. So, theoretically at least, it is something their kid just spouted on a trip. My guess is the kid was thinking about the easter bunny portrayals like people in suits and that spurred the question. I mean when you think about it a man sized anthropomorphic bunny is sorta scary. Thats my take away. Of course the humor might also be how does an adult answer questions like this that kids bring up randomly.
HubertManne@piefed.socialto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Why do some people hate drinking water?English1·3 days agopure distilled water does not. if water with taste is water then great. I personally have a bad habit of drinking a particular flavor of water called soda.
HubertManne@piefed.socialto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Why do some people hate drinking water?English1·3 days agoIf i moved there I would get it tested to find out why it had that flavor. Pure distilled water that is only h2o definitely does not.
HubertManne@piefed.socialto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Why do some people hate drinking water?English2·4 days agoI don’t think the cold water on a hot day is about flavor. Its just as flavorless as its ever been. Its neutral and you can’t get away from that without flavoring it. Bad water can taste aweful but the best is just going to be neutral. We like the taste of acidic things for some reason. Not sure why. The cold water when hot is more a craving and if for some reason you can’t get ice cold water but you can soda. Even if your not a soda drinker you may guzzle the icey drink.

You pretty much have to assume this type of crap with all discourse now and realize that the big problems are wealth disparity and corps being given to much power along with that most people ultimately want a society were people have food and shelter and education and healthcare but they can be manipulated against their own values really. Its a crazy time.
I wonder if you played a video in the background on mute if it would keep it going. Sounds crazy but I have seen this type of thing work. Might even be helpful to fullscreen it on a a virtual desktop. Windows usually has four virtual desktops as a default last I knew even though most people do not use them.

As functioning as most others. I often point to the 70’s as sorta an ideal but I don’t really mean that. Its just that we mostly seemed on a path of improvement and that started to erode in the 80’s onward and now is seriously eroded. As limited as american democracy was it was still, no pun intended, revolutionary for its time and for awhile was not expected to last. We were pretty much at the forefront until the post ww2 period where we got fat and lazy, but again the conversation was there and we continued to push for reforms. When we did not have universal healthcare by the 70’s it was getting long in the tooth and honestly we were holding down europe at that point (out competition I think kept them from expanding further). Honestly if it was not for ww2 it would be more clear that europe was beating us. France had the 40 hour workweek a year before us and that is telling.
Yes in a stressfull enough setting in a person suffering from mental health challenges themselves. Which is almost everyone at some point in their lives. It is its own call for help. Adults can be depressed and find life devoid of meaning or the meaning they cling to is failing them.

my thoughts. system has to be made for costuming from the get go and you bring in a wierd new character race and everything breaks for them.
Yeah I was never big on social media. I like what linkedin is supposed to be but seems like an aweful lot of people don’t use it that way instead posting like facebook. Youtube was another I used if you call it social media. slashdot got me going as it harkened back to newsgroups and such. Reddit came along and it was like a wider variety slashdot. Then the fediverse was a satansend getting away from the corporate crap.
