  • I was reading, thinking “this is definitely New Brunswick” before recognizing your username :P

I’m originally from Bathurst, hotboxing a Honda Civic in the McDonald’s parking lot was essentially a rite of passage.

Sidenote: the culture of driving stoned and/or drunk is so crazy prevalent around here. I was pretty reckless as a teenager, thankfully I now know better but a lot of people I knew back then never grew out of it.

  • From the GrapheneOS website

8th generation Pixels provide a minimum guarantee of 7 years of support from launch instead of the previous 5 year minimum guarantee

As for issues, the only one I’ve heard really people complain about is the lack of Google Pay. I’ve never used it so it doesn’t make any difference for me. Apparently, some banking apps have issues on GrapheneOS too, but both my banks’ apps work fine.

  • There’s some confusion somewhere here, but I’m not entirely sure where. If you’re using a torrent client, you’re not using Real-Debrid. You can download torrents via Real-Debrid, but the torrent part is done on their servers. When you then download the files, you’re not torrenting, you’re downloading directly from Real-Debrid’s servers.

If do you want torrent client recommendations, qbittorrent on PC and LibreTorrent on Android. Just know that you wouldn’t be using Real-Debrid while using these.

  • A pedestrian being hit by a small car or big car is likely ruined either way.

Vehicle size actually has a huge effect on the severity of vehicle-pedestrian collisions.

I find that full-size SUVs and pickup trucks pose a particular danger for pedestrians. A pedestrian hit by a full-size SUV is twice as likely to die than a pedestrian hit by a car under similar circumstances, while being hit by a pickup truck rather than a car increases the death probability by 68%. I find that high-front-end vehicle designs are particularly culpable for the higher pedestrian death rate attributable to large vehicles. A 10 cm increase in the front-end height of a vehicle increases the risk of pedestrian death by 22%.

    Source study.

  • They’re talking about Real Debrid, which is a subscription service allowing access to hosters and easy conversion of torrents to direct streams. It’s really cheap and absolutely worth the money IMO, but RD doesn’t seed torrents. Distributing content in that manner would get them in heaps of legal trouble.

I guess it does somewhat solve the problem of leeching, as if anyone has streamed a torrent via RD in the past 30 days you’ll just load their cached copy, but I was perhaps naïvely hoping for an actual addon (RD is not an addon but rather can be configured through Torrentio) that somehow seeded torrents I stream.
