It also makes sense for good, honest journalists to use this language. Because they’re trying to be neutral and leaving the opinion forming up to the reader, as far as they can. They want to let the facts speak for themselves. Even if they’re pro Ukraine, they want the facts to convince you to be pro Ukraine, not their phrasing.
So, regardless of whether they’re rage baiting, paid off by Russia, or trying to do honest journalists, it always makes more sense to use neutral language rather than having a pro Ukraine bias.
The beer part seems too narrow in general.
Good to know, thanks! I’ve had some small lacerations from bicycle and scooter accidents that weren’t too bad, but I can imagine how much worse it’d be if they’re all over. I hope my protective clothing will at least prevent some of that. If nothing else, I’ll take the fact that I don’t have balls as a small solace.
Just curious, how are you after that? I trust my helmet and feel safe about my head, but I’m worried about fractures.
Depending on how much you hate hair that’s only half dry, towelling the shit out of it or only using the hair dryer for a shorter time. Then air dry. I do the latter over night so I don’t notice the wetness, keeping a towelly bonnet on. Also, the dryer works better if you brush your hair the whole time while holding it into the air stream.
I’m not even in tech. I teach maths at night school to support myself while doing my masters. Somehow I’ve become the ‘computer guy’ at my job. All the teachers and even office staff ask me to explain software to them that I myself have never even used. I need to learn to say no.
I meant that as in ‘everyone should be pro creating safe bike lanes’. Sorry I wasn’t clear
I mean, getting hit by a bike hurts, but it doesn’t kill you. Still, I’m not a fan of people endangering and inconveniencing others so they themselves can be safer either. But that’s what people are like. That’s one of the reasons everyone should be pro bike lane, even if they don’t cycle.
My room is a nightmare of a mess and I’m not a drug dealer. We exist
Most of my brains bandwidth is used up by remembering things like that my passport is in that canvas bag half under my bed and that my birth certificate is in a specific stack of paper at my mums house in my former room. So yes, let’s!
Where do I learn the skill of remembering/noticing things that are directly in front of my face
It can also happen after you consent to SOME intimate acts, but not others, and the other person can take you by surprise. (That one has happened to me, im not male though)
Power over another person, the prerequisite for most sexual violence, doesn’t have to come from superior physical strength. It could come from an age difference, a professor-student or boss-employee dynamic, or some form of blackmail, for example. And the body can experience physical arousal in response to the right stimuli even when you don’t want to have sex. You can also do acts of sexual violence that do not require an erect penis.
That sounds like an amazing time. That zesty crunchiness just hits the spot sometimes.
Roasted chickpeas with whatever spices your favourite crisps contain kinda scratch the snacking itch while being healthy. But I get the weirdest munchies for random ass stuff like a whole cucumber eaten without slicing, or garlic soup.
Not necessarily INHERENT deficiency. Providing exception for someone who grew up oppressed, poor, abused etc can help level the playing fields and doesn’t imply that the oppressed etc person has any inherent deficiencies. Just that they’ve had it harder so far and maybe we should cut them some slack for that.
I thought this was a discussion about languages people speak.
Esperanto is an interesting case though but it wasn’t designed to be as simple as a language can be (since that is highly subjective). It was designed to have as many similarities as possible to major European language in order to make it easier for speakers of those European languages to learn.
Because languages aren’t constructed, they ‘evolved’ naturally from humans communicating with one another for many generations. As such, they aren’t intended to be as simple as possible. They aren’t intended in the first place. They’ve grown over time with no regard for whether the rules makes sense because nobody designed those rules, they just happened.
What does it mean? I’m not a native English speaker
