I run Kinoite on my Laptop and Silverblue on my desktop. After years of “I use arch, BTW”, I decided I needed something that Just Works; and let me tell you, Fedora has not failed to impress.

Stardew Valley FTW

I just started writing a programming language! I’m using pest for the grammar/lexing, which makes if super easy. I built my ast using enums and structs, which makes me appreciate Rust even more. I also am coming to love the way rust handles errors. For example, when there’s an error converting from pest -> ast, it feeds all of the error into into my error type, which is so much easier to handle than making it panic out of the function

Um, maybe don’t recomend homebrewing to a brand new Switcher? The process is very risky and it can brick if you do it wrong.

But I do agree with buying second hand games. Nintendo is pretty messed up

No problem! I understand that every project is a little bit different. That’s the beauty of Foss, after all! Just because one solution doesn’t work for me does not mean that it won’t work for everyone. Keep up the good work!

Personally, I’m going to stick to Obsidian, because my notes are already there, in markdown, and I can encrypt them with GPG if I want to. But I love to see other options in this space!

I personally switched my mom over to Pocket Casts after the news that Google Podcasts was shutting down. I don’t listen to podcasts, tho, and I really just picked it because it was rated well. It’s also not FOSS

For rust specifically, I recommend checking out NoBoilerplate on YouTube. His videos are short, sweet and to the point, and they make you feel better about the progress you’re making. Also, LetsGetRusty is nice for when you are first going through the Rust Book, because he explains everything with examples
