When I first started using Linux I was impressed with how easily everything seemed to work. Then over time I started to get annoyed with all the things that I had no idea how to fix without looking up, and thought about going back to Windows.
Then I used windows again and was immediately reminded of all the stupid bullshit I had to constantly fight with and forgot about because that was just the norm when windows is the only OS you ever use.

Somewhere for me to go and make myself annoyed?

That statement is an absolute.
Even then, a person can survive just fine with $900 million dollars, and $100 million to the right charity can do a world changing amount of good.
There are no ethical billionaires.
Was that all Gabe? Or was that people at Valve who had the ideas and executed the ideas and Gabe is given credit for?
Gabe Newell has a net worth of $9.5 billion and there is no such thing as an ethical billionaire. Steam is great and as long as the company behaves well there’s no reason not to use it, but billionaires are not your friends.
I’m not going to use something that’s shitty now in hopes it will be better later in order to avoid using something that’s better now out of fear it might become shitty later.
If Steam becomes shitty I have no issue dropping it and pirating my already paid for collection.

CileTheSane@lemmy.cato PC Gaming@lemmy.ca•The biggest PC gaming subreddit [r/rpcgaming] has blacklisted X for being 'hateful' and 'toxic', citing Elon Musk's 'distasteful' behaviorEnglish2·5 months agoIf I somehow accidentally did a Nazi salute my first response would be “Oh my god, I am so sorry, that was not my intention. Nazi’s are bad and I denounce all Nazis.” Then I would explain what I was trying to do.
Musk hasn’t bothered with the apology or denouncing Nazis, because it wasn’t a mistake and he was saying it nice and loud for the people in the back.
The most generous interpretation for people defending it is that they know it was a Nazi salute and they are trying to maintain “plausible” deniability. The only other explanation is they are complete fucking morons.
Another helpful phrase: “Am I being charged with a crime or am I free to go?”

They’re still trying to pretend:
Alternative explanations for the gesture are plausible. Musk is socially awkward, and he may have been stiffly trying to throw love to the crowd for helping put Trump back in office. “My heart goes out to you,” he said after he did the gesture a second time.
CileTheSane@lemmy.cato PC Gaming@lemmy.ca•The biggest PC gaming subreddit [r/rpcgaming] has blacklisted X for being 'hateful' and 'toxic', citing Elon Musk's 'distasteful' behaviorEnglish691·5 months agoTo be clear: It wasn’t the behavior of X or Musk over the past year that caused this, when he was already clearly being a Nazi pushing Nazi propaganda, it was the Nazi Salute.
I’m glad people are finally blocking X and I’ll take wins where we can get them, but this should have happened a long time ago.
The behavior of X did not change after his salute, it was already operating as a Nazi platform. My opinion of Musk didn’t change after seeing his Nazi salute, I already knew he was a fascist supporting the fascist party. My only surprise was that he was already willing to say it louder for the people in the back that he’s a Nazi.
It’s so frustrating that people are so unwilling to call fascists fascists until they go completely mask off. Musk can exhibit every Nazi behavior and people keep using X no problem, but it’s the fucking salute that gets them to finally block the platform.
So do people hate Nazis because of what they stand for? Or do they just hate the Nazi salute? Because by all available information it’s the salute that might get someone in trouble, all the other behaviors get ignored or excused.
