I cant speak to gnome I’ve never used it. The problem started because there was no good screen capture protocol on wayland and everyone made hacky solutions. I only know KDEs hacky solution.

I wish there was some kind of thing to prevent words being used misleadingly. WSL and Apple containers are not native. If you have to run another kernal its not native.

If you’re on wayland KDE, create a window rule to make it always on top. Then it works fine.

I believe one of the problems is that nvidia is an out of kernel driver so it requires each kernel update to rebuild it. There is a lot of distro’s that handle this with a proper configuration of dkms but some dont and it causes issues that are hard to solve for the average user.

I liked the comment where the guy said sooner we will add gender and class consciousness to the kernel then someone chimed in unironically agreeing this was the direction. I guess Marx was wrong, its not socialism that leads to communism its rust in the linux kernel.
